  • Fiberbuilt yardage numbers on GC3?

Wondering if anybody’s experiencing any yardage discrepancies with Fiberbuilt mats. Went to the course today and I’m a full 10 yards longer on my irons than what I’m getting on my GC3’s simulator with Fiberbuilt grass series 4x7 mat. Thanks.

I cannot speak to the GC3 aspect of the question, but I have been using the FB Combo Grass series mat for several years now and I find my distances pretty bang on so I am not certain it is the mat. Could be several things though, different golf ball in your sim, low ceiling height causing swing speed or other swing change, cool basement vs hot outside air temp, elevation differences between GC3 and outdoors or even a combination of all.

For me, single biggest selling factor for the FB mat was (is) protection from injury, so hopefully you can resolve your issue - it is a great mat choice IMO.

No it was me I was hitting the ball a little bit fat and now my strikes are a lot better and they are going exactly the distances on the golf course.

This is a common problem for people hitting from a Fiberbuilt hitting mat. The mat fiber is very soft and thus if you hit slightly behind the ball the strike on the club face will be slightly high.

At the course I belong to they replaced the old mats on the range with Fiberbuilt. A lot of people complained about high club face strikes but in reality they were just hitting the ball slightly fat and the mat gave more then the old firmer mats an/or the actual golf course turf. If they hit the ball off the stance portion thy were happier since the club would bounce into the ball.

Those who practiced a lot were not so happy when their wrists and hand started to hurt after hitting a lot of balls off the firmer surface, I have a Fiberbuilt hitting strip cut into a CCE elite mat in my sim and I'm quite willing to lose computed distance on slightly fat high club face hits as opposed to sore hands and wrists.

Funny thing, the course , since the are in the make the people happy business, took out some of the soft hitting strips and replaced them with firmer mat pieces.
