  • Garage Build Ideas - Simple but effective

I'm a newbie and have been reading all the great posts gathering ideas. I am looking to build a simple solution in my garage that is highly portable and easily stores away when I am not using it. I have a Rukket net that works great. I was thinking of just hitting into it. However, I need some ideas for a good mat. One that doesn't slide around under my feet at the garage gets a little dirty at times. Also something to put under the net so the balls don't, bounce, bounce, bounce....

I think I am going to buy a SkyTrak based on a recommendation and will stream to a TV I will hang on the wall, but open for ideas.

I would love to see some garage install pics that show some simple solutions, mat configurations, and any ideas on "wings" for my net. I appreciate the help!

If you search for "garage" you'll find everything you're looking for. Lots of people in your shoes there.

It ain't pretty, but it gets the job done.
Both nets and screen slide along the cable and out of the way so i can park cars in the garage if needed. Also, there is a piece of angle iron in the bucket filled with cement so i have something to tension the screen to on that side.

The mat is made of styrofoam insulation with a mat glued to the top. It then has a cutout for opti, p3proswing and country club elite hitting strip. It's hinged to the wall so it folds up flat.

The gray pieces of carpet roll up against the wall, and they were very cheap at home depot. I think they were like 8 x 8 or something. cuts down on the bounce and protects balls from getting scuffed. You can get this or the outdoor green, that is a little thicker and probably cuts down even more on the bounce.

wbond, great share! I like the cabling idea as I wasn't sure about what to do with the "shanks" that will undoubtedly happen. Also the fold up idea is interesting.

Not a garage, but my recent build out. I still need to pull up the carpet and put down putting turf which I already bought.

can you tell me more about your screen setup. Did you purchase a kit. How did you hang it, etc.

My simple solution for the moment. I will expand as I figure out what I should change. It takes me 3:30 to set up and put away.

Here is mine. The hitting platform folds up against the wall. Right now I use a block and tackle to manually lower and raise the platform but I will eventually get a hoist to make it easier. Also going to eventually add putting surface and cups to it.
