anyone find some good priced but good quality turf for the rest of the room -- I have a 15x25 room that I want to put turf onto my concrete basement floor and then cut in an area for my truestrike system. I live in wisconsin if that helps with any local options for people in teh midwest.

So, I had settled on Dricore for my sim subfloor, but wanted to pose a question. A friend of mine owns a CrossFit gym, and is moving to a larger space. He is leaving behind some older equipment to be sold, but is offering me about 150 sq ft of 1" thick MMA mats. These are a dense foam mat that interlocks, and I can have them for 50 bucks. Anyone have a similar set-up in their sim, and if so, do you have putting turf over it, and lastly was/can the putting turf be glued/taped to this style mat? Thanks in advance.

I have seen setups with these type of mats. They are firm interlocking tiles, not squishy like an anti-fatigue mat. You have different options for adhering the tiles to the floor, and your turf to the mats. It depends on what your floor material is and whether you want this to be more of a permanent install. A heavy duty double sided carpet tape will keep them in place. Some turf is heavy enough that it does not need to be adhered to mats like this. I have seen a really nice nylon putting turf that has a 5mm urethane foam (a little squishy) backing and then a scrim layer applied to the foam. Velcro hook is adhered to the mats around the perimeter, and then when you roll the turf into place the scrim grabs onto the velcro hook just the way velcro loop does. A few different ways to go here, but if it were me and I was using the 1" MMA mats I would go with the velcro and turf with scrim on it. It is portable as well since you can roll it up if needed, and then put it back down.
Here is a link to the turf. This one does not have the thin scrim layer, but I do believe it is an option.
Synthetic Turf International offers a variety of backyard putting greens. Request a free sample and get a free quote at STI.
Edit...
Here is a link to a pic of it that kinda shows the scrim.

Back to the synthetic/ artificial grass...
Decided to try synlawn in GA, but turns out just a sales rep and not somewhere to buy remnants from. Now looking at Home Depot ( but looks cheap and not ideal) and lowes seems to have reasonable stuff but not in their stores.
Need to get a 10' x 15' for sim use... and poss extra to make a hitting platform to include my CCE hitting strip and Rucket tri- turf mat.
I'm in Atlanta/ Marietta for a few days.... any ideas????
