    Projector location question....

My frame is going up today. My ceilings are 9'2" from concrete, and given subfloor and turf, going to loose 2" at least with CCE and turf flush. Frame will be 11' wide x 8.6" high to account for flooring and width space. Will be hitting 9' from screen centered, and going with a 4:3 setup. I have narrowed it down to 2150ST ( Approx. 10 feet from screen) or 1080GT (6'8" from screen) For those that have 1080 GT ceiling mounted, any risk with coming close to it on follow-through on a 9' ceiling? Trying to avoid floor mount. Also, at 10 feet from screen, does the 2150ST loose too much picture clarity/brightness as opposed to being at 9' or so? Only lighting will be in hitting area of GC2. PJ Central shows at 10' it needs higher screen gain? Any input is appreciated.

Make sure to note the vertical offset of the gt1080. Its fairly large. If it's mounted above your target line,I don't think there should be a way to hit it with the club. A straight pop up or close, that's a possibility.

I guess by vertical offset on the 1080 you mean that from ceiling image will be too far down the screen? I don't think I would hit it with a ball, but my buddies certainly might. I am just trying to figure out best setup for my frame and screen dimensions. Screen viewable area is 10'x8', and I would like to fill it, but also seems like a 16:9 image will be to short. Thanks for the input

I think with a 10 x 8 screen you would be better off in 4:3 mode. On the optoma that will give you a 7.5' high image. The top of the image will start 14" below the center of the lens. This is a large offset, so you need to account for that. The benq image would start only 2" below center of the lens, big difference there. Optoma would have a throw distance of 6'8" vs Benq at 10'1"

Not sure if you can answer this, but in pj central, at 10.1 for the Benq it says more brightness needed. Is this with ambient light or assuming a darker room? Do I need a brighter projector at 10.1 feet?

Anyone running a 2150St in 4:3 at 10' throw distance? How is brightness? Want to run it in low light room, with only hitting area lighting. Screen is 10x9

Follow up question. I can get my hands on a year old benq 1085st for $600..supposedly rarely used. Good deal for what it is compared to 2150st?
