    18' ceilings require floor projector?

upgrading my Net Return setup to a more immersive experience. Simulator room is 30x22 with 18 foot ceilings. It seems like 10' tall is the maximum height for impact screens, so I think I'll go with a 18' wide x 10' tall screen on the 22' wide wall and let the room be 30' deep (putting in a putting green on other side of the room).

Since my ceiling is still 8' taller than the top of my screen, am I better off going with floor mounted projector? I can't think of a way to make the ceiling mount work with this setup, even with a 48" extension pole. Or will vertical shift and keystone correction be a viable solution at that screen size?

There are very few good things that come to mind with using floor projectors. Ever try putting over one?

For that size of screen you are likely looking at some sort of high spec projector with higher lumens. There's nothing to stop you from lowering the mounting point to a more workable height from your 18 foot ceiling. Gets done in industrial buildings all the time.

Not sure if you going with an enclosure, but I've seen lots of projectors mounted to those. Not sure if you can find a short throw or super short throw for that size screen with it being mounted to the enclosure. As mentioned above, always ways to get an extension longer from the ceiling.

Mine is mounted to at least 14ft on a cathedral ceiling using one of those drop down projector mounts. I got this cheap one off amazon over here in the uk. It's perfect, Rock solid - not sure if they sell them in your part of the world but there are other cheap mounts that are well made...
