  • Black friday sales?

Anyone know where to look out for any Black Friday sales? I'm looking at a Benq 2150st.

Call Ben q and ask. They threw in some goodies for me and gave me better pricing.

Just ordered the Darbee as well from Amazon. If you put it on your Amazon card you get an additional $80 off. Just paid $470 for Optoma GT1080 Darbee out the door! I was in the same boat as Taingbeast, I had a refurbished 1080 in my cart last week, glad I waited!

I just got the new benq ht671st with free ship/ceiling mount for $750. Called benq, it is same as the loved 2150, except 3000 lumens instead of 2200, and I think a faster lag for gaming. Same throw and zoom and blah blah. I was set on the 2150, but concerned about the lumens so hopefully this is the trick. I am going to make a custom slide mount for it so that I can go from 4:3 to 16:9.

not as good of a deal money wise as the darbee, but I really had it narrowed to benq and this projector seems to pack a ton of value.

I just ordered the exact same deal! I have a room with a ton of ambient light so I was worried about the output on the 2150. I was excited to see the ht671st at a nicer price and pulled the trigger just now.

I will be fixed at 4:3 - 128" wide and I think this will work really well.

Is the throw ratio and vertical offset the same? I was too worried about lumens since I'll be projecting 4:3 from about 12'. Will the contrast going from 15k to 10k make that much of a difference?

brg1875 - from the manual and specs the throw ratio and optical zoom capabilities are the same. The vertical offset seems to be the same or within 0.5" comparing from the HT2150ST on projectorcentral.com to the HT671ST manual.

Can't find that on projector central, are you certain that the throw ratio is the same? Pls let me know! Definitely interested, it's even cheaper than the 2150ST

Sorry I mixed up the numbers.

ok, I actually called benq direct, spoke with someone. It is super new, like just out this month. He went over it and it is literally the same as the 2150, except speakers not as good, a tad louder running noise, but the is from the higher lumen lamp. He literally told me that if I was looking at the 2150, the TH671 was a better projector that is basically the exact same thing but 3000 lumens.

i asked him about the contrast, he said those numbers are kinda like fake stats or you can manipulate them. He didn't understand why one said 15 and other 10 because he looked up the guts and it is the same exact dlp chip.

i hope all this helps. Anyone on fence for 2150 should probably get this. I think he said keystone was better too, but really they are the same and one is 3000 lumens

The deal for the Optima is one you just can't pass up. I just got off of the phone with Amazon to process a return for the same project I bought two weeks ago. You can see that per the deal they currently have the projector costs 599. If you are a prime member which I am you can upgrade your store card to a new credit card and get an additional $70 bucks. My total costs for the new order is $230 dollars cheaper !! In addition to that you get a 15 dollar gift card that you can use later. Ridiculous not to take advantage if you can still return your projector.

any comments on the difference between the original gt1080 and the darbee? I have the original but would like something brighter with better color reproduction. I keep reading that the benq is better even though it has a lower lumens rating but it would sit further back than the optoma and my garage door opener would be in the way.

I don't think it is that ridiculous if I actually determined that the benq is probably the one that I want more. There was also a free $60 ceiling mount, so that combined with fact I am not signing up for any CCs despite being a prime member and the difference to me is like $100......but again, I wanted the benq anyway from what I have read, so hopefully it doesn't disappoint. I think darbee deal is amazing, but I don't think it is ridiculous to not be happy with the benq one....and if so it can be returned for any reason in 30 days. Everyone seems to love the 2150, the benq setup and colors and control, and this is a 3000 lumen brand new model, so I dunno, I think it was worth going out on a small limb for it.
