    Mitsubishi XL7100U

    hello everyone!

I have been following the board for a good year now, but first time posting!

I am probably 1-2 years away from moving into a house where I would like to make a nice golf simulator room.......but doesn't hurt to start preliminary planning early!

I have the following question for the forum..... my wife's employer is selling the following projector for practically free. Would it be appropriate for a golf simulator room? The IT guy said that its mostly used for boardrooms and that the projector makes a lot of noise....... but the specifications seem to be very high quality. The only other concern would be the throw ratio? Maybe someone could comment on that as well?

    Thank you very much!

Sounds like an interesting projector. Very high lumens - 6000.

There are more details on projectorcentral: http://www.projectorcentral.com/Mitsubishi-XL7100U.htm

Only thing is, it seems to depend on the type of lens that is fitted to the actual projector in question. It would help if you nailed that info down. This will determine how far from the impact screen the projector will have to be in relation to the size of image you want.

Other than that it is a 4:3 XGA (1028 x 768) projector. It won't give an HD quality picture, but I use a projector with that resolution and it is more than good enough.

Lamp life might be your other concern, given that it is a used projector.

If the price is right, it might be worth a shot.
