    Projector advice for new setup

Over the weekend I finally managed to get a net fixed in place with white archery baffle in front of it, the whole impact area is 10ft x 10ft and I have to say I'm really rather pleased with it.

However, I initially planned just to use a TV for the visual aspect but I found an old projector whilst clearing out and thought I would see how it looked on my white archery baffle. The results have really got me keen on projecting and I have a couple of things I'd like to ask.

The projector I found is an old Dell 1100MP, just a standard throw device. It has seen better days and has some known issues with colour etc. and is only 1400 lumens. However, as a guide it's fine and I was able to have it mounted 16ft away from the screen projecting at 4:3 with me standing 10 ft away. The image was about 7ft wide and there was no shadow.

I have exhausted any real budget I had on my indoor area, Skytrak and the software so a short-throw projector is out of the question for the time being. I am happy enough to project a smaller image on the screen for the time being and not fill the whole area - it is still better than a TV off to the side. I am thinking of buying a standard throw projector like the Dell but one that works properly and is a little brighter to plug the gap. Is there anything I need to be aware of in this scenario? For example, let's say I went ahead and bought this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Projector-L...Cp_36%3A-20000 - is it feasible? The image doesn't have to be perfectly crystal clear, just acceptable for sim purposes and is an entry method for me. Will it be ok or are there issues that would see me better served just leaving it for the time being?

    Help greatly appreciated!

As a matter of record, I was able to borrow an Epson projector (the EB-S03 2700 lumens, standard throw) from a friend. It has horizontal and vertical keystone correction so I sat it at an angle behind me, 14.5ft away from the impact screen. It projected a diagonal image of 132" and despite fairly high amounts of ambient light in my shed it was highly visible and only part of my big fat nose was showing on the screen. Maybe not 100% perfect but given my budget and expectations I was very impressed and pretty surprised. The only issue was that the res was 800x600 so the text was a little grainy.

So I went ahead and bought this https://www.epson.co.uk/viewcon/corp...overview/12958 - brighter than the above but also with 1024x768 res (fine IMHO). Also has the h+v keystone correction I need to make it work in my setup but I'm very happy with how things have turned out. Just FYI for anyone with similar questions.
