I'm building a permanent sim enclosure, and according to the math at Projector Central, I need an offset of 17" between the bottom of the projector and the top of the screen. In my prior temporary build, I just used the Net Return Pro simulator screen, but ideally I'd like to go with an actual blacked out enclosure, which generally includes a "ceiling" that extends 5 feet out from the screen. If I go that direction, will my projector work, or does the 17" offset result in some of the image being blocked by the enclosure? It was a very popular model back when I was originally buying components and I didn't have any intention to replace it if I don't have to.

What I don't know is what the angle the top of the image comes off the top of the projector at. Is it linear, as in the projector has a 17 inch offset at 7 feet, so I draw a line from two points, one being the projector, and the other being the impact screen 7 feet away and 17 inches down being the top of the image? And if so, does anyone make an enclosure where the screen is roughly 8.5 feet tall but the ceiling of the enclosure is 10 feet tall?Originally posted by Godfather View Post

If you already have the projector in your possession, I would say to experiment by holding a club or something in the spot that would represent the front post of the ceiling of your enclosure and seeing if it interferes with your image. In other words, try to replicate your ceiling by turning on the projector and holding something in that spot (even just your arm) to see if it blocks the image.
