optoma 1090hdr ratio 16:10???

Getting ready to start pulling the trigger on hardware for our 50% golf & 50% theater room that is 22w x 9h x 30l. Planning on getting the optoma GT1090HDR, par2pro stealth screen(12x9), and uneekor qed. I plan on watching movies @ 16:9. My goal is to play the simulator @ 16:10 since it would fill my screen more than 4:3. I would only be shifting the projector 1ft back for a throw distance of 7ft for golfing vs 6ft for movies. I am planning on buying the skyrail projector mount that allows 17" movement for adjusting throw.

This will be my first projector so my question is: Am I able to switch the format on the computer display/software(e6 and or TGC) to 16:10 and then change the optoma aspect to 16:10 as well?

I was hoping to get the same question answered, we are looking at upgrading our Optoma 1080 Darbee running 16:9. We would only upgrade to support 16:10, 4K plus Lumens with a .5 throw ratio.

Assuming that projector supports 16:10, then yes. In your computer settings you'll select a 16:10 resolution and then do the same within TGC (I assume e6 has the same option as well) and then switch over to 16:10 on the projector. Just make sure the resolution you select on the computer matches the one you select in the game. TGC gives the options in the form of resolution, not aspect ratio. The projector will likely give you the options in the form of aspect ratio. Computer could be one or the other but just make sure any resolutions you choose are consistent with any aspect ratios you choose.

You won't select 16:10 in TGC. You'll select a resolution that is 16:10 (like 1680x1050 or whatever). The projector will give you aspect ratio options. TGC will give you resolution options. Select a resolution in TGC that is consistent with the aspect ratio that you choose for the projector. Also be sure to choose resolution or aspect ratio in the computer settings that is consistent as well.

Thanks, I cannot find the resolution setting options in TGC. Will this force a 16:10 image thru my Optoma 1080 Darbee projector even though it is not a native 16:10 resolution?

I think it's located in the "advanced graphics." I can't remember exactly as I set it the very first time I played and haven't messed with it since.

Why do you have to select it in the computer and projector as well? Works fine just changing in TGC with my Benq 671st. Am I missing something?

Perhaps you don't have to. I changed it in my computer settings to ensure that the computer was formatting things in the preferred resolution before sending the image through the projector. But it may not be totally necessary.

BTW, it's an awesome projector. I love it. Yes, you can display any type of ratios. Set the projector to Auto, and what ever resolution or ratio you choose from your computer, the projector will receive, process, and pass that signal to the screen. You can even do custom resolution or ratios from Nvidia command center or AMD adrenlain software.

Sharkgolfer Do you have the 1090 projector. If so do u have pics of same u can post. I think many r interested in that projector
