  • Projector Cages

Anyone come up with an innovative and cheap way to protect a ceiling mounted projector? I see protective cages for sale online for the same if not more than I spent on my projector. I was hoping to find a cheap yet effective way to protect my projector from an accidently hit from a club.

I haven't used it, but maybe you could find a wire basket similar to this and just cut out a hole in the front for the image to project through?

I plan on getting a black container like this although not as big. And then cut it so the front is open but the sides and bottom cover the projector.

Depending on the temperature in your garage just make sure your enclosure is vented well to prevent overheating of your projector/bulb.

I have approximately 8ft hitting distance from my screen. My projector is 6ft from my screen. It is just a matter of when and not if someone is going to hit my projector. Thanks for the responses, you guys got me thinking about something like heavy gauge chicken wire molded to fit. My projector is also hanging 6" down from my ceiling. And in this picture you can see that my ceiling is sloped, 10' 10" at the highest and 7' 10" at the lowest.
