Does the BenQTH671ST work well for a 16x9 screen?

It's a 16x9 projector so it works best with a 16x9 screen.

I'm coming up with 13' from the screen for optimal coverage. Sound right? Not sure how high/low that needs to be as I have a 11' ceiling.

It says on their website the below. This is what confused me. Am i reading it wrong?

It will fill all of the screen provided that the screen is of a 16:9 ratio in size. No different than any other 16:9 projector. How big is your screen?

Thanks. I ordered the stealth screen from Par2Pro 16:9. I realize a stupid question but I thought I read somewhere the max screen size was smaller than that ration. Sorry for wasting time!

16 x 9 projectors are actually pretty good at 16 x 9. I've been very happy with this projector. I've had it for 3 years ish.

thanks. What distance/height do you have it at? Calculator showing about 13' away? What height?

Is about 10ft from screen and as close to the ceiling as i could get. Ceiling 94 inch height. Screen is like 13ft is x94 inches.

12'1" when I try it, but the zoom allows you to move it a foot or so either way.

Based on your dimensions, I'm showing the TH671ST can be mounted anywhere from 11' to 13'3"

The projector will fill a 192x108 screen from 12 feet away. A telephoto lens will require 13 feet and a wide angle lens will require 11 feet to achieve the same image size. No matter the lens, it must be positioned 3 inches above the image for a ceiling mount.

The brightness does get quite low when mounted that far back. (According to the projector central estimation. The manufacturer estimation is of course better).

Is there a particular distance you're trying to mount from because of space issues? May not hurt to look at something with a little bit shorter throw ratio. Something around 0.5 would put your projector about 8 feet away for that image size, which would help with the brightness factor.

This is helpful thanks. As a noob, I dont quite follow the lens bit as I assume it has one type of lens and isn't variable? Anyway, I have little to no space issues with 11' ceiling and 20ft depth of the room (garage). I definitely want it to be as bright as possible I've just read so many good things on here about this projector that it moved me toward it.

Also, I'm seeing this on their website?

Not sure what they mean by that. Perhaps that's the maximum image size that they consider to be bright enough for satisfaction and moving the projector any further away (to cast a bigger image) would not be bright or clear enough. Just my guess.

Check out some of the Optomas. The GT1090HDR and GT1080HDR are both popular sim projectors and you'll be able to mount them closer. Plus they have more lumens than that BenQ. You have a big screen, so something with a shorter throw ratio might serve you well to cast that big of an image at a distance that will keep things bright enough.

Thanks. I appreciate the input. So much love here for the BenQ but I will definitely check those out. The "clear image size" of 120" really threw me off and was hoping I misunderstood it but apparently not.

I am setting up in my garage. Using a 10’x10’ stealth screen from par2pro. Stance mat will be 9’ back from screen. My question is will the viewsonic P710HD work? Planning on a ceiling mount. Any direction is greatly appreciated.
