Epson HC1080, correct me if I'm wrong

Setting up a simulator setup in the 2.5 car garage. Two single doors. Tracks 120.75" wide and sit 6.5" below ceiling (wall mount garage door opener being installed), ceiling height is 106.5", have almost 25' in depth. I will be putting a retractable screen 12" in front of the garage door. I would like an 8ft (96') picture height with the 10ft (120") width. Likely to be hitting from 9' to 10' away (unless I should be closer due to the screen size?)

According the the calculations page it appears I can mount the projector 7" above the screen height and between 14.5' and 17.5' away (depending on zoom). It has both horizontal and vertical digital keystone, so I thought I would offset it's placement to the side so as not to create shadows or potentially interfere with my swing.

I'm in Canada, with a max projector budget of $1000 Cdn (~ $650 US), so this may not be the only option, but it seemed to fit nicely with the budget, resolution, brightness, throw, etc.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Assuming you're shooting for a 4:3 aspect ratio, your image height will actually be 90 inches, not 96 (120:90 = 4:3).

About 15 feet away would be the sweet spot for that size with that projector.

Since you have a pretty low ceiling, that would likely give you shadow issues if you mounted in the middle from that distance, so off to the side with some keystone correction is an option. But using too much keystone can cut into your image quality.

Price is in the same ballpark. At 4:3 you can mount it 10 feet away for your desired image size, which will eliminate any shadow issues and there will be no need for keystoning. Mount it directly over the ball and it won't be in the way of your swing. And it has a very short vertical offset which will be good for your lower ceilings.

The BenQ is a good option except they're impossible to find. I would like to source in Canada, as the brokerage/duty with shipping is ridiculous.

Don't necessarily need 4:3 either, as with the directions found here (https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...ution-matching), one can adjust the width within Windows. Am I correct? I still feel worried about having the projector overhead with the ceiling height being just under nine feet.

If I was to mount overhead, I'll have to find more than the BenQ as an option given the current availability.

I appreciate the help, just the same. I'll keep researching and reading, and perhaps there will be other suggestions posted.

It also begs the question if the hitting position is 9' or 10' from the screen if that's too far away

1. A hitting distance of 9-10 feet is perfectly normal. That's right where most people are.

2. Mounting the projector directly over the ball is the safest and best place for it. It will not get hit with a club. And it will not get hit with a ball (if your balls are bouncing back 10 feet you have some serious bounceback issues you need to solve). I can't say it enough --- mount the projector directly over the ball.

3. If that particular BenQ is too hard to find just do a search for projectors with the same throw ratio. That 10 foot mounting distance will be perfect for your setup.

Is there a particular place everyone purchases ceiling mounts from? I think something that keeps the projector within a few inches from the ceiling.

I'm not sure of any particular place for projector mounts other than just Amazon. Search for low profile projector mounts as you'll want to mount it pretty flush. Could probably find some on Ebay.

You should find a few other BenQ models with a similar throw ratio as well. BenQ has a number of projectors with short vertical offsets that are good for low ceilings.
