I'm trying to wrap my head around the best solution to fill my 4:3 screen. My current projector is 1920x1080 native. Picture is nice and bright but the height isn't to my liking. To fill it I set windows to a custom resolution 1600xsomething. That reduces the clarity. Is the best option to get a 4k projector and use a 4:3 resolution, like 2048x1536? For those with 4:3 screens, how have you worked out getting the best picture possible?

Are you using a gaming PC? If so, the key to filling your screen is to position the projector based on the height of the image (fill the height with your max 1080 pixels), then adjust the horizontal pixels to something narrower than 1920 in Windows Display Settings and Nvidia Control Panel (if you have an Nvidia card). Leave the projector set to Auto or 16:9 aspect ratio.

Hi Ron. I guess if one is using a laptop gaming pc vs. a desktop gaming PC you will fave the ability to make changes using windows software but not the NVidia card direct. I was on the phone yesterday with the NVIDIA rep and this is what was communicated. This really limits how much you can shrink down the width. Do you agree with this? I’m in the market now for a desktop gaming PC to run skytrak and TGC2019. Any suggestions?
