Looking for a 4k projector 4000L and up. So I see an ad for a Optoma HD39HDR. It said 4k in the title. Almost pulled the trigger until I read this projector will accept a 4k signal but it down converts and displays in 1080. Such shady marketing. I wonder how many people bought this with the mere mention of 4k on the box. Always do your research!
Can someone explain 4k enhancement and how does it compare to a native 4k res? I'm seeing 4000 lumen and above specs under $2000 but they're not native 4k. They all use terms like 4k enhancement and others. Is it a marketing ploy or real technology? I'll wait and one day spend the 4-5k for a bright enough 4k. But do I need to spend that much?
