  • Pole Placement for Projectors w/ off-center lenses (& mount holes)

Looking at you here, BenQ LK936ST. I have a cathedral ceiling. I want the projector lens dead center on the screen b/c I cannot really do any lateral lens shifting as I am maxed out on vertical lens shift. However, I cannot for the life of me deduce where the pole needs to be in order for the lens to be dead center. Anyone have any thoughts? Here’s the dimensions sheet from the user manual.

The LK936ST has lots of horizontal lens shift. The amount of vertical lens shift shouldn't affect how much horizontal you can get, but tbh haven't tested that. A few inches of horizontal shift should still be very doable.

That said, a good projector mount like the CrimsonAV JR3 which we sell can easily be positioned so its center is lined up with lens center on the LK, even if that isn't the projector's center of gravity. It's a heavy projector, but a good mount will still hold it securely if off-center.
