    High ceiling Projector/Sim mount

Hi guys, I'm in the middle of a build and have been searching for ways to drop the 700STI projector and Eye XO down from 12' ceilings in the basement. I've seen where GungHo offers the JR3 mount and while it looks really cool, $190 per seems a bit steep, especially with the extension columns needed.. Has anyone used a different mount or am I wrong in my thoughts about that price given what it offers? I'm not trying to cheap out as you can probably tell but the budget is gonna be over so anywhere I can trim some costs without sacrifice gives me the stories to tell my wife when she asks how's it going . FYI my rafters are open so it gives me all sorts of options. Thanks for any advice.

I used black iron pipe fittings, 2 flanges and a piece of pipe, they're cheap and strong and can be painted. Attach the top flange to some lumber mounted to the rafters, and the bottom flange to a plywood piece cut to suit the mounting holes in the projector.

Thanks, I like that idea, not to mention it matches the "theme" of the area it will be in as well.

I have 12 foot ceilings in my garage and bought a mount off amazon for 30 dollars, that can be lowered up to 23 inches. I wouldn't buy any of the mounts these "golf simulator" stores are selling, you can get a projector mount that will do the job for a lot less money than the ones they push on their sites.
