  • Projector placement ?

Hi, I'm having my golf sim and projector installed tomorrow by an AV company. I'm afraid they may not know the best place to mount the projector. Using projector central, it will be right over the golfers head (or a hair back from). It can be offset to the left or to the right though. Where is the best place to advise them to mount the projector (left to right, not front to back)?

If it helps, I'm using an EyeXO and BenQ LK936ST for lefty and right golfers (but 95% righty).

I would offset it to the right ( Lens shift not keystone), this stops any steep L2L shots having any chance of hitting it. If your super worried I have seen people put them in cages

    Great projector!

If it's over or only slightly behind the golfers, mount it in the middle. You don't swing through there, righty or lefty, and you'll not block it with shadows or anything either.

Couldn't agree more. Just make sure you take into account the Eye XO requirements. I am not an expert but I am given to understand there are very specific placement requirements for the system.

Third both iacas and jasonreg, I drew out the rough position of the EYEXO on the ceiling to make sure they would not have to be in the same place but you want the projector as centered on the target line (ball position) as possible.

What's the height of your image (max height on your impact screen)? Projector should be positioned in the center (over ball-target line) according to that height, assuming you want to fill the entire screen. (Image width can be adjusted in your PC.).

AV companies often don't consider that, and will only install for 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratios.

The other consideration: make sure projector lens is low enough so that the EYE XO isn't blocking the beam from reaching the top of the image area.
