  • ViewSonic X10-4K Projector

Is anyone using this projector, and can comment on it’s suitability? I currently use a BenQ SH671 ST, but I have recently upgraded my graphics card, and use a 12ft HD impact screen. Thanks in advance……

That'd be a very uncommon choice. It maxes out long focus at 8'2" image height, and is on the dimmer side of projectors at 2,400 lumens. Mixed reviews on the LED light source it uses, and reports of soft focus at larger image sizes.

The BenQ TK700STi would be a more proven projector in the golf sim world for low-end 4K, and is only a little higher priced than the X10. The throw is longer, so make sure your room size is sufficient (diagrams in the product description here to help you with that): https://store.gunghogolf.com/BenQ-TK...tor-p382280820.

Here's a short video showing how good the TK700 looks at 16x9' in a golf studio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqbzCeNNTA4

For 4K, make sure your graphics card is at least as fast as a GTX 1080 (can compare any card to that one here: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compar...080/4083vs3603).

My graphics card is 1440p, not full 4k. Would it still be a noticeable visual improvement changing to the TK700?

What is your graphics card? The answer is probably yes, but just curious.

An RTX2060 is a 4K graphics card. It's actually capable of 8K resolutions.

                  The 1080 is almost 20% faster than the 2060 - see https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compar...080/4034vs3603.

Whether or not you could run sim software at full quality/frame rate would depend on the software in question, and you probably wouldn't know until you tried it. The 1080 is the minimum recommended spec for 4K. Even an RTX 2080 Super (which is 55% faster than a 2060) struggles a little running TGC 2019 on max quality if a secondary Uneekor EYE XO data screen / club video is up on a secondary monitor.

If you're not too picky about extreme detail and frame rates, the 2060 would likely be ok with either TGC 2019 or E6 Connect in 4K.
