  • Who has a BenQ LK936ST in stock or available soon?

Hi All - I’ve been piecing together a sim for my garage. I blame this site for my addiction! I have my heart set on a BenQ LK936ST projector, but I can’t find one in stock or one with a known ship date.

Anyone know where I might be able to track one down? Any other 4k ST projectors that I should consider?

    Thanks!

I ordered mine a day before it was announced direct from BenQ. It took 2 months to arrive. Another guy order his two weeks after me and was told last week that it wouldn't be here until May. Best advice is to get on the waiting list at a big dealer who gets preferred stock allocations and wait it out. Will likely be fall before it shows up. But it is worth the wait. I wouldn't buy anything else after seeing the image.

Thanks, EGMIII. I ordered from B&H. Fingers crossed it won’t be fall.

How big is your screen? Did you mount it the center of the screen or offset? How high is it mounted?

I’m concerned about shadows and need to figure out the best place to rough power and HDMI.

Projector People has them available at the end of March, not sure how accurate that is but I see B & H is 8-10 months. I bought my projector from Projector People and while I haven't had to use them for anything other than the purchase, I liked the way the transaction went, fully updated on delivery schedule.

My screen is 14' wide and 8.5' high. The projected image starts about 5" above the floor. I could tune a custom resolution to fill the height, but it doesn't bother me at all. I mounted it with the lens dead center to the screen. The center of the lens is about 2" below the top of the screen. I used a Crimson AV JR3 mount. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong one and the arms were not big enough. I ended up making my own arms from 1/4: steel flat bar to adapt to the Crimson mount. In the end, I'm much happier with this solution. It's way stronger and more stable. The Crimson mount is awesome for making adjustments and the 936 has amazing controls for the final tweaks. I had it perfect in less than an hour. A pro who knows the controls could do it within a couple minutes. I'm 6' 2" and hit from 8.5' back. Any closer and I would cast shadows in the lower corners. Not a big deal, but then the projector is shining in your eyes, which is a big deal. Hope this helps.

I placed my order with AGI. Never bought from them before. Hopefully it comes soon but everybody has different estimates.

I suggest calling each one you find online and asking about their stock and delivery dates and then finally picking one. I was told you cannot wait until dealers have them in stock before deciding or else you may not even get one. Benq is heavily backordered.

When you placed your order, did you have to pay for it in full at that time?

Most places will ask for a credit card up front, which probably does a pre-approval, but don't actually charge the card until the order ships.

It's worth it to ask and make sure though. I'm betting it varies based on who you buy it from.

I ordered the BenQ LK936ST from B&H just before Christmas and was told in Jan that it would ship mid Feb. Today they say it is still temporarily out of stock and expect it to be in around July/Aug. Hopefully I will have it for next winter. BTW - they did charge my credit card when I ordered….

B&H holds your money for 7-8 months. That just seems wrong. I guess if you want one of the BenQ LK936 ST projectors then you just have to drop the cash. There are people that say it will ship in two to three weeks. I think I will wait and see. People already have them, did BenQ make like 5 of them?

I ordered mine on Feb. 9th and emailed them and the only response is we will let you know when the manufacturer ships it. That was from B and H also!
I used Paypal and do the 6 mos SAC

I ended up cancelling with B&H and ordering from Projector People. Based on the outstanding communication from Projector People, I am hopeful that I got my order submitted in time for late March drop ship. Fingers crossed and good luck to all searching for this. I've now moved on to stressing about placement / shadows. I have a 9.5' tall screen and will be placing this close to 14' from screen. My hitting area will be 11' ish feet. Maybe mine will be available for resale

Very nice. That is gonna be a huge screen hehe.

I opted to not stretch my image from floor to ceiling and mounting at 12 feet for about 8 foot tall screen in a 10 foot ceiling room.

You do have a little bit of wiggle room with the zoom lens but i don't know if that will matter much for the shadows. can probably do some geometry before mounting and see where the impact is

With only a few days left in March, has anyone had a tracking number sent to them for the BenQ lk936st?

I just got mine delivered from AGI. Pleasantly surprised. I would suggest calling them to check on stock levels if you are worried yours wont get fulfilled in time.

AGI has already sold all of the ones they had. The next shipment is in about a week. Fingers crossed!

I tried to Google AGI and I didn’t see anything that looked right. I’m sure I’m missing the obvious. Link?
