Yep definite upgrade from th671st. Went 4k with 3080 and upgraded to this projector. No complaints.

Have it and love it. To be fair I haven't owned any other so I have nothing to compare it to but when researching this projector it consistently came up as one of the best in that price range.

What size is your screen? How far away do you have it mounted? Any shadowing from your hitting area ? From Projector Central it looks like on larger screens this projector has less light output then the 671, noticeable?

Not trying to highjack a thread, very interested in this projector.

My screen is 14ft ish wide and I hit from 9ft or there abouts.
My th671st was mounted around 10ft away and projector central had it as too low of brightness for that size 9fl. It worked fine.
My tk700sti is mounted around 12ft and projector central had it in the recommended area for brightness 14fl.

14fl>9fl so tk700 must have more light output???

So I just got this projector and I didn't check to see how far back it needs to be from a 150 diagonal screen. I assumed because it was a short throw it would be about the same as my Optoma GT1080HDR which was about 6' away from the screen but this one needs to be about 12' from the screen so how is that a short throw? I've got room in my room to mount it and the quality is really good so I'm going to keep it I think but I have 30 days to decide as I got it from BenQ

Both my benq st were about the same throw. Th671st was a bit closer but not 6ft.
              10-12 ft.

I was thinking the same thing when I looked at this projector. Are you having problems with shadows?

Just got it mounted and I have to move back to eliminate shadows. Still get a shadow when I go and get the balls but the image quality is outstanding

For those that have the tk700sti how did you mount it to avoid shadows? I have a 7.7 x13 screen coming and it looks like recommended mounting distance is 12 feet. Can I mount at 10 feet (above ball) and still avoid shadows?

Well, I could show you the math - OR - suggest you grab a sheet of graph paper (or make some in Excel) and draw some pictures. Make it easy like four squares per foot or whatever you like. Draw a line from your projector location on the ceiling to the bottom of your screen. Then make a 6' (24 squares or whatever your scale is) "person" cutout and slide it along the bottom of your chart. This will tell you when shadows will show up on your screen. Rough Math - as long as a 6' person is out side of about 7 feet you should be good with a projector at 10feet high 12 feet back - assuming the projector supports this image.

This is very helpful. Thank you! Math isn’t my strongest subject but I’m assuming i can most likely mount closer ( 8 feet) and still avoid shadows. Will most likely take a test and see approach.

Yes - 8 feet or further (edit: for your hitting position with the projector mounted at 10 feet) - you should be good to go.

According to projectorcentral, If you move it to 8' your image will be 97"Wx55"H. A lot smaller than the screen size you mentioned.

Apologies - my bad - I read that Nil3377 wanted to move to an 8foot hitting position. wbond is absolutely correct that mounting the projector closer will not work if you are after a specific image width. I edited the comment above for clarity. Nice catch!
