My projector will be mounted at a height of 9-10 and about 20 feet from the screen.. I plan to hit from 11 feet from the screen. My image will be be 14-5x7-0. By my calculations I won't have shadows.
I bought this projector http://www.projectorcentral.com/Optoma-HD141X.htm

You can't. All the calculator tells you is the throw distance for the image size you want.
Then you need to do some fairly simple trigonometry to calculate how close you can stand without casting a shadow. Draw it out, I think you'll see you easy it is to calculate. And this tool is your friend. http://www.carbidedepot.com/formulas-trigright.asp

Unbelievable improvement, looks better than my led TV. Not sure if the increased lumens or the resolution improvement is responsible. Probably a combination. The 3500 lumens makes all the difference with no more wash out from halogens

Are you displaying 4:3 or 16:9? Also, how far back is your projector. Doesn't say this is a short throw. I have 10ft ceiling and put my panasonic 4000eu back about 18 ft, but have yet to test it.Originally posted by Craig118Time to retire my optoma hd600, just pulled trigger on a optoma hd25lv 3500 lumens, should eliminate some of the washout I get with the 2009 720p?model. Hopeful also the the step up to 1080p will be a big improvement.US - Eastern Time Zone

They both have good reviews and both are short throw projectors if those are what you're looking for. I like the Optoma better due to the higher lumens.
For me, I need a regular throw projector. I like Craig's Optoma hd25lv.

For the price and lumens that HD25lv looks really good on paper from about 18 or 19 feet for a golf sim image. Based on the comments above, it sounds like the projector in action is great. I actually wish I held off on mine (Benq 1080st, just could not go wrong with the price at the time).

Ok, I am thinking of purchasing a Optoma HD25-LV I am going to use 16 x 9 aspect ratio. My impact screen which I just ordered from Protee is 12'-6" wide x 9'-3" tall. My overall finished sim room dimensions are 13'-3" w x 23'-6" deep by 9'-4" tall. I will start off using the Skytrak then if not impressed a GC2. I do not want to practice in a dark sim room, that is why I am thinking of the HD25-LV. I know that there will be shadowing, should I be concerned? With a throw distance of 20'-2", I will have a image of 148" w x 83" h Please comment and feel free to advise. I would like to order my projector asap. Thanks
