Doing simple math, it seems with a projector like the HD25-LV having a large throw rate, it must create shadows. How do you overcome this? Please advise, my room is almost there. Thanks

With you image size, the lense will be at 18' 6" from the screen. You are also at 9' mount. You need to draw out where the bottom of the image will start and line it up to where the lens will be. With a LM, you can hit from anywhere. I'm just guessing here but I think you should be ok hitting from 14' and maybe even closer. It depends on how tall you are too when you're swinging the club.

I have the HD25-LV off set from center about 10 inches to the right at 18 feet back from screen. The only time I see shadows is when I am over a putt at my putting sensor which is obviously closer to the screen. It does not bother me much at all. If you want to off set further to the side you can but you may have to use keystone correction to square the image. Keystone correction will reduce your image pixel count though.

Sorry for another post about projectors. I just feel nervous about placing a HD25-LV 18'-6" plus behind impact screen with only a 9'-4" ceiling height. I came across a Optoma EH200St. With a 12'-6" x 7'-0" image projection at a throw distance of 6'-3", it will provide a image brightness of 34fl. This projector seems super bright, super fast. Comparing this to the gt1080, the EH200ST specs are far superior. Can someone comment on this projector. I have not heard anyone talk about this one.

With the HD-25LV you can get:
              84" vertical image
              Ceiling mounted at 244"
              Hit from 177"
A golfer that's 6 ft tall won't have a shadow of his head standing at the tee.

Throw distance of 6'3" seems a little close to me and would thus need to be protected. zip seems to have done the calc for you on the other projector.

Mad th jump from 720 to 1080 projector and couldnt be happier. Definite noticeable difference in clarity and brightness. Highly recommend if one is thinking about an upgrade to do so!

I'm also looking to upgrade my short throw projector. I'm currently using an Epson 430W, which is ok. I want to go HD to take advantage of TGC. I don't have experience with these new Optoma projectors, but in the projector calculator if you change the primary use to video/game the EH200ST and the GT1080 look like they spec out pretty close. These 2 are on my short list.

Also looking at the Benq HT1085st, or Epson Powerlite Home Cinema 2030. I have the 10' x 14' screen from Protee and would like to use as much of that screen as possible. I like the Optoma HD25-LV but the throw would be to long, and if my calculations are right I would get shadows. I think the longest throw for me would be around 16' or 17'.

Im planning on seting up part of my barn with the protee system (10x14 screen). I have plenty of room but because it doubles as a half court basketball area my actual enclosure can only be 16w x 15 d. And I will probably have the last 16w x 5d be removable. Which means ill need a short throw. Ive been looking at the optoma gt1080 and the throw is 6-7 ft which means it will be in between the putting sensor and base sensor and near the placement of an h-cam. Is this acceptable and would this setup affect accuracy? I realize ill prob need to build a housing to protect the projector.
