Need Help With Projector Selection

I have been looking at several brands and tried two different Epson's that are not doing what I need them to do. The screen I am using is 114 inches wide and 90 inches tall. Diagonal is 146 inches.

The issue I keep running into is trying to get the projector image to show on the entire screen. I currently have the Epson Powerlite Cinema 2045 that was recommended to me by the store salesman and the image I get is too wide and not tall enough to fill the entire screen. Can anyone give me some advice on which projector will fill my entire screen?

I am in the same boat. From doing some research on here it seems that our best bet is to use the projector central calculator and go from there.

Set to 4:3. You will still have 4-5" of white space total between the top and bottom.

No projector will fill your screen, as far as I know there are only two main formats that projectors use 4:3 and 16:9 which are the ratios between the horizontal and verttical. So if you pick a 4:3 projector and fill the image width you will do (114/4)*3=85.5 inches, so you will have a gap or you could fill the height (90/3)*4=120 and your image will be slightly too wide. Anything else is going to involve squashing/distorting the image in some way which I don't think will look very good.

The Epson I have now will not allow me to set the aspect ratio whenever I have a USB hooked in. I did the calculations on a website and as I thought the Epson the salesman sold me is not designed for the short radius I have. I went ahead and ordered the BenQ 1080 ST which I think will do the trick. Won't be a perfect match but from 10 feet out it should fill most of the screen. Fingers crossed!

You have a non standard screen aspect ratio. Your best bet is to project 4x3 and make the height fill the screen. Your width will be 120 inches wide which will have 3.0 inches off the screen on each side which is nothing as all you will lose is part of the rough on most holes you play. What you have to do is get a projector that at your distance from the screen will fill up the vertical dimension. The projection calculators should enable you to pick a suitable projector which will fill the vertical dimension.
