Early planning stages for my sim, so much to research! I'm new to projectors, so please forgive any stupid questions coming up.
I currently have an Epson Pro Cinema 4030 projecting to a screen that is about 80" x 40" (I got screen for free and projector for 50% off on black friday). The Epson is 12 feet from the screen and mounted from 10' ceiling. When I build my sim screen, I'd like to have it be about 12' wide and 9' tall (I have some flexibility on those dimensions, but prefer widescreen to 4:3. I plan to have another screen mounted in front of the sim screen that will drop down to watch movies / tv. So my questions are as follows:
1) Do projectors have settings that can instantly switch from the 12' x 9' dimensions to a smaller screen size?
2) If I keep my current projector at 12 feet, will I have shadow issues when swinging?
3) Does anybody run 2 projectors stacked on top of each other, 1 for sim and 1 for movies?
Other info:
1) The room is 16' wide x 16' deep
2) Ceiling is 10', but slopes at back wall to 7' 7"; I don't think the back slope is a problem because it rises to 10' at 21" from the wall
3) Probably will have a 3 - 4 inch platform on floor, making ceiling height more like 9' 6"; shouldn't be an issue if projector is mounted in center as it is currently
