  • Mevo +

I have seen some info about the new Mevo + but there still isn't much out there. I've been thinking about switching from Skytrak to Flightscope. Guess I better wait to see some more information on this unit.

Does anyone have any info or thoughts?

There's been some info in other threads, we don't know much yet. It appears, based on the original Mevo and patents, that it uses the Mevo's lower resolution radar tech instead of the high resolution of the Xi and higher end options. Exactly what impact that makes is unclear, it would presumably be a little weaker at picking up measurements that require more detail like spin and spin axis--especially indoors--and perhaps weaker at the short game. If you are thinking of switching from the Skytrak I'd definitely wait for some independent reviews and tests before jumping on it so that we're clear exactly what the limitations are and whether it is, in fact, an upgrade from the ST in the realm of sim golf. My own guess is that we'll see it being a bit less accurate than the ST indoors for sim golf, but far better outdoors as a training aid and for club fitting. It's hard enough for high end radar tech to pick up spin data indoors with cluttered environments and short tracking distances; it would be extremely impressive if they were able to pull it off with a lower tier product.

Thank you for the update. We don't use our Skytrak for simulation. But have the TGC package, and was let down when we would try to play courses. We have kicked around the idea of going to a XI Tour so that we would have all the club data, So I figured I would see what the Mezo+ was all about. We only use it indoors as well.

Yeah, I just upgraded from the ST to the Uneekor last year as I had been a bit underwhelmed with the ST for sim too. The ST is, however, very accurate for picking up spin, assuming you have everything set up properly so as far as the ball measurement goes, it works great for the price. What do you use it for? If it's mainly for game improvement the Mevo+ might be great for you with the club data. I doubt it will be accurate enough for effective club fitting though, you'd probably need one a higher end set up for that.

Use it for game improvement. Have thought about getting into more of a fitting situation, but we aren't set up for it yet.

I'm sure I won't lose much money if I sell the ST and look to upgrade.

How has your experience been so far with the Uneekor LM?

Very positive overall, though the marked ball issue is a drawback. It seems very accurate, almost no misreads, no shot delay, very easy and seamless integration with TGC2019. Short game in particular works amazingly well after having the Skytrak. But you need marked balls and they only offer two-piece premarked balls at this point. There are options for marking your own, but it's a bit of a pain. I'm hoping they offer a premium 3 piece option at some point here. It's not even close to enough to make me regret the purchase as I love the thing, but it's the one thing that is a bit annoying.

Just ordered it ! It was just announced on Twitter, and indeed the web page www.flightscopemevo.eu is updated. It seems very complete, something I have been waiting for for a looooooooooong time : club and ball data, in a small package. Now the waiting has started : expected delivery within 3 to 4 weeks. Not too bad. We shall see

Clearly going head-to-head against SkyTrak, with club data.

Plus, it will come with some simulation, based on E6. No idea if this can scale to add more courses, but clearly an interesting prospect

Looks like it will be a cheaper version of the Xi. Most of the parameters are available on both.

I saw somewhere you can add more courses but pricing was to be determined.

Another thread had an FAQ with suggested ProTee was a sim partner but I haven’t seen that anywhere official.

Looks like TGC is on the simulator compatibility list for MEVO+ Has anyone seen it setup yet or tried?

I brought one home from the show and will be testing it against the SkyTrak in the next couple days. Very impressed with it at the show.

I ordered one and promised in an other thread that i would test shorter distances LM/ball/ wall.it is like at least 3 weeks before I have mine.

Could do the setup test so people who are interested could get a quick answer?
