  • Mevo+ Sum up

I have seen three threads in this forum regarding the Mevo+ and i thought it was a good idea to try and sum up what we know so far. Feel free to comment with stuff we know that i have missed and i will update this thread.

The Mevo+ is a radar launch monitor with built in alignment camera from Flightscope aimed for the consumer market and with a 2000 euro price-tag excluding VAT.
Flightscope is known for their high end B2B products and apps and good customer service.

Included in the package is the Mevo+ app which allows for overlay clips and sharing on the Internet and saving onto the Flightscope cloud. 10 clips can be saved in the cloud without cost and additional storage can be purchased. Also included is E6 connect (PC and iOS) and 5 different golf courses and 17 ranges and a mini game. More E6-courses will be available for purchase but it is unclear if they are available at the moment of me writing this down..

There is some confusion if the 5 courses included in the Mevo requires an extra softwarepurchase from E6 or not. Mevo+ is also compatible with the FS skills app with combines etc. When launched the Mevo will support iOS and Android will be available in a few months. The Mevo+ is used as a wifi-hotspot when connected to other devices. The Mevo+ requires no annual fee for the above.

The Mevo will also be integrated with TGC and The awesome golf suite.

Flightscope has a 14 day return policy.

There are PC software available from FS as well but for an additional fee and there is also additional products like SelfieGolf, FocusBand and extra metallic stickers. SelfieGolf is used to atach your phone to your bag when capturing clips with the phones camera. FocusBand is a training product that tracks your state of mind when preparing for the swing and when you swing. This is used by numerous professionals as a training aid.

Mevo+ reads and handles all the parameters the Xi- series did but only present 16 of them to the user. This is just as it was when they launched the Xi and Xi+ and those were followed by the Xi Tour that unlocked all parameters.

Mevo+ can be used indoors and outdoors but indoors needs a special metallic sticker to be put on the ball for reliable spin-data. The Mevo+ also handles local weather data in order to increase the data quality. Sun or darkness has no impact but it has been reported that users should avoid fluorescent lighting.

Clips has shown very short delay and lag between the actual shot and it appearing on screen.

For short indoor mode, the unit is placed eight feet behind the ball and minimum eight feet of flight required. For regular indoor mode, the unit can be 7' to 9' behind the ball with a minimum of 13' of flight. Not determined if this could be reduced but info is on its way but requires testing. According to FS putting is reliable to as short as 5 feet putts.

FS have communicated through official channels that the device will be as accurate as the Xi series. This statement has been backup by a third party, Protee united:
“Mevo+ is indeed a great unit. We have been working on the integration in 2019 and are impressed. We compared results with other well know launch monitors and all is very close."

Protee United has verified that the integration with TGC is up and running and will be launched soon. TGC to Mevo will not be sold thru Protee but thru Flighscope or a third party:

"Flightscope will list it for sale very soon. We will not be selling this direct.

Flightscope has been testing the integration and they are happy and excited like we are."

Thanks, Will try to keep it as objective as possible even though i am a huge fanboy of Flightscope. Btw how do i change a subject of a thread?

Brutaly, nice summary! The MEVO+ manual was photographed and pages shown on a Facebook group. For short indoor mode, the unit is placed EXACTLY eight feet behind the ball and minimum eight feet of flight required. For regular indoor mode, the unit can be 7' to 9' behind the ball with a minimum of 13' of flight.

Is “short” indoor mode less accurate then regular indoor mode?

      Excellent review.

I might be wrong here but I believe PC is not available yet they were just previewing it.

Android in one of the few videos should be out “in a few months”.

can someone post the instruction Manual from the Facebook group? Couldn’t find it.

We need some comparison videos with other LM!

so if you want indoor Sim it’s a minimum of either 16 feet (8 behind / 8 after) or indoor 20 feet (7 before / 13 after).????

GungHoGolf There are 1000s of people waiting for someone to do an in-depth comparison of the mevo+ indoors.

      The following will be important.
      1) Data Comparison between skytrak/gc2(especially spin and spin axis)
      2) # of miss-reads/no reads
      3) performance on putts, chips and high speed drivers

A LOT of people are waiting on this information and the first person to post it will probably get a SHIT TON of publicity

GungHoGolf Do you hit off of a mat or do you have a continuous hitting surface from strike point to your screen? Many users on here hit from a mat/platform that could be a couple inches higher than their floor. With that being said, it would be beneficial to know whether or not putting would work if the ball drops off the hitting mat in less than two feet of roll or so.

I have a continuous hitting surface (SynLawn Precision Putt) with lexan under hitting area. I can try to stack up some turf remnants to simulate putting off an elevated mat.

GungHoGolf that would be great. There are a lot of folks who have it this way, especially garage setups where they place the mat on the cement floor.

Please if you do that, (stacked mats), do it in addition to doing it with continuous mat - as I will be setting up with Continuous mat. Really want to see differences in accuracy with (7' behind - 8' to screen) and (6' behind - 8' to screen), or (6' behind - 9' to screen) and maybe one other with (5.5' behind - 8' to screen), or (5.5' behind - 9' to screen).

The only test that is interesting imo is the flexibility in distances in the setup. Can it be reduced to accommodate smaller hitting areas?

Having doubts in the device performance is like having doubts in a Porsche being fast and of good build quality. Trackman/Flightscope has an iron clad reputation built on no bullshit products. FS and a third party has vouched for the performance and accuracy and as a previous owner of an Xi+ that is good enough for me. Stellar products.

It is not Ernest Sports we are talking about here :-)

No guts, no glory. Waiting for it to arrive and it cant get it soon enough.

5 feet behind isn't even enough room to swing a longer club - 6 feet is just barely enough. Sure you don't have 7 feet?

Not sure on that GungHoGolf, I'm pretty certain I measured a full Driver at 5.5 feet behind just fine, I'll try it again for fun. I'm using a Taylor Made M2 and am 5'10" tall with a pretty wide swing.

Brettster Just went and measured how much room I need behind for a driver. I'm 6'3", and 6 feet from ball to wall leaves only about 2-3" of clearance - too close for comfort. I guess 5.5' *could* work as long as you don't have taller guys over, or guys who sway over their right leg.

Added a clip where you can see some of the features in the FS Mevo app and a couple of shots sim gameplay where the delay can be seen, or the lack of delay:

Cant change OP but i have verifed that there is no additional fee, E6 Basic is included free of charge and gives you simplay on 5 courses, out of the box.

My expectation is that it will be very accurate outside. If you recall a number of years ago TM was able to predict where the ball would land within 2 or 3 seconds on the 16th at the Phoenix Open with outstanding accuracy. Thus, I suspect mevo would be very similar based off of the information in the first say 30 feet of ball flight.

Is that for IOS only or is there also no additional fee for the PC software?

The Mevo+ comes with E6 Connect with 5 courses for iOS only. They plan to release E6 Connect for PC plans soon, pricing TBD, but the folks from FlightScope and TruGolf I spoke with were saying the PC versions would incur additional cost.

Just spoke to a salesman from rain or shine golf. He says I can order tgc2019 with the mevo plus and it will work out of the box with mevo+ When I get it 3 weeks from now. Has anyone confirmed that???
