  • Mevo+ Return Policy

I’m seeing restock fees of 10-20% if you return the unit even within the allowable time frame. This is charged by Flightscope and not the retailer. That concerns me bc that is a $200 to $400 to try it out. I'm not sure it will work for my space so that is a major risk to confirm/deny.

Anyone else seeing the same return policy and concerned about it? Can one of the retailers perhaps weigh in and tell us if there are acceptable reasons for returning the unit without being charged the restocking fee?

To me that type of policy is a company not thinking their product is that great. Or the flipside is - they do not want anyone just to try it knowing they will return it in a few weeks/days.

I had devices from FS and also had a lot of contact with support etc and i would say the latter.

No offense but what they would like to avoid is situations like OP describe. People want to try it out but they are nor 100% committed. We have to realize that this is a much more sophisticated device compared to for instance ST but at the same pricepoint. It wouldn't be a surprised if they have considerably lower margins on this device compared to their other models, since the technology is the same or at least close to.

And handling returns is a huge cost and you need to calculate with that 5-10% of the units will be needing some sort of repair when they come back.

But check out where the device is shipped from, there might be laws in play that actually allows you to return the device with no restock fee. For instance European orders are shipped from Poland and if delivered in EU there might be a EU-regulation that actually forbids FS to charge the restock fee.

I agree, with the demand they are seeing, I believe they are trying to not get people just ordering to try it and then return. I am sure if you are serious and something is truly wrong with the product that they would likely want to work with you to get things right.

Yeah, the return policy comes into play when you want to return a working device. If it is not working you can return it and claim your money back or get it replaced, depending on local laws.

10-20% seems high but I get their approach. All companies will have a fee of some sort. I believe ST is free 30 days but subject to a 20% fee if damaged etc. Foresight I believe is 15% etc.
So their restocking fee isn't out of the norm.

To me it’s one of those oddities of the golf sim world in that I totally understand companies not wanting to sell an item for people to “demo” it then return it. They then have to refurbish it and sell it probably for a discount or maybe use it as a warranty replacement as I suspect they legally can’t resell it as new. So they are taking a financial loss for someone to try it.

However, the challenging part as the consumer is unlike most other things I buy I can’t easily see it action at a retail store or try it somewhere before ordering it.

If folks arent sure on the purchase then best to wait for more reviews and more people to ask to try out specific limitations.

Seems like an efficient way to filter out anyone but those completely committed to the M+, and/or scare the uninformed into keeping it once they've got it. It is a brand new product, after all. They can probably afford to play hard with the rules at the moment.

In contrast, the much loathed and oft looked-down-the-nose at (on this forum anyway as far as I can tell) SkyTrak has a much better return policy, I believe. 30 days I think it is? 45 maybe?

If you're really that concerned, it would probably be prudent to wait a while for more reviews on the M+ to come out. I'd pay special attention to the feedback on the advertised limitations vs reality. Just my suggestion.

Restocking Fees are what a lot of companies are doing to battle return-abuse because it's such a massive loss.

I bet you could get 2k for it from someone who doesn’t want to wait 3 weeks.
