  • I Tried On-Course Simulation and I Liked It!

In picking up the MEVO+ it was my intent to just use the FS apps (golf and skills) and the e6 driving range. I may have to reconsider that now.

Just for fun, after an early evening practice session on the e6 range, I figured since I had the MEVO+ fired up, I'd play the first hole of Aviara. That was fun, so I played the second hole. Then, the third, fourth and fifth! I had fun! My basement is not a place where I will ever swing driver. I teed off with 19* hybrids, but, it was definitely realistic. MEVO+ and the e6 Connect did really well. I didn't putt, but I'm not too hung up on having simulated putting.

I downloaded the e6 Connect demo app to my gaming desktop and am waiting e6 authentication. I'm hopeful I can use the demo on the PC, while keeping the MEVO+ e6 Connect subscription on my iPhone. If Flightscope and e6 work out a PC version, I might just do it for a few extra bucks!

Anyway, I definitely had fun and will continue to "get a few holes in" as part of my winter practice sessions.

Awesome.. exactly why I switched to the Mevo+. I don't need full 4k and 1000 sim courses... the 5 free are fine even if graphically challenged on the iPad. Just to break range practice up, or play a round a few times a winter with a couple buddies... the fact there is no fee for the courses was one of the deciding factors for me. Glad it's working well for you.. hoping mine shows up next week!

If you already have a decently powered PC to run sim software, and are contemplating splurging on something more than the 5 freebies with Mevo+, maybe hold out and see what kind of relationship Flightscope creates with TGC2019. The E6 pricing structure turns me off... $300/year or $2500 for the PC full version, and I don't think you get online play at all without the $300 annual subscription....

TGC2019 gets rave reviews, and the full purchase for that is only $1100 if I remember correctly, and includes online play, with no annual subscriptions.. so just another option that could be better cost wise than E6.

I concur, the 5 courses on my ipad pro will be more then enough. I dont care for immersion or graphics so the looks dont bother me at all.

The second reason for going with the Mevo is that i had an FS before my ST and compared with ST FS is just 100% better in all aspects except digital presence. Since community is not that important either the choice was easy.

Online is not that important either so here we are, Mevo+ will be great for me, my few sim-sessions and my fittingclients.

I always wanted a "fairways and greens" game on my SkyTrak. It seems like you just set the sim to auto putt or super long gimmies to have such a game in E6?

Yep, no need to putt in TGC or E6 Connect unless you want to. E6 Connect has several options for auto-putting... "Computer Decides" factors in distance, slope, and how well you're playing to give you 1, 2, or 3 putts.
      Working...
