So I’m moving to a new house and am planning a sim build. The width is tight. Lefties and righties will have to hit from opposite ends of the space. I’ll have about 8-9’ from ball to screen. Abd I should have about 7-8’ from mevo+ to ball. My original thought was skytrak and just moving it for left and tight. Does anyone know if the mevo+ will work at one side of the space, rather than dead center? Also, is it feasible to move the unit side to side if I have a righty playing with me? Thanks!

Mevo+ in tight width space

From my understanding you need to have the ball within the size of the Mevo+ as you are creating a line from the hardware to the screen. That is what the Mevo considers as center.
I don’t know if you can rotate between two sides and alternate shots. I’m sure you can create something to move it one side to the next but it would need to be at the same height roughly as the ball.

the beam width of the radar seems to be about 14 inches at 8 feet from the ball, which means you can place the ball 7 inches from the "bore line" on each side of the "bore line".
This means that if you want to swap from rightie to lefty you need to moce the unit a align it each time.
I have the same issue and what i did with mi Xi+ was that i aligned it on each side and marked the exact placement on the floor with tape. This way i could easily move it when i go a new client.
I have started to design a movable dolly and when i get my Mevo i will have it on that instead.

No need to test, the unit can be off center by approx 7 inches, the width of the radar beam. As long as the alignment line is parallel with line you aim at. It is the same with all FS units, it can be off center as long it is aligned. It is alright to have the mevo on one side but if you move the ball outside the beam width you need to move the Mevo.

I just want to make sure I’m understanding correctly. Is position 1 ok or would it have to be more like position 2?

Your ball and the Mevo+ should both be on your target line, which should be perpendicular to your screen, even if your lack of width forces you to hit off-center of the screen.

You will need to move the MEVO for lefty vs righty play. The beam isn't wide enough to cover both ends of the mat. I have seen setups where the MEVO covers both a tee and a "fairway" lie sitting next to another about six inches apart. It won't cover a whole mat.
