I am not surprised by he missing info from this video. There is so much misinformation out there it is not funny. Who know who is behind videos like this one, but at the end of the day it is great to have forums like this to call things out and ask for real testing. Let’s see what we can do to get @leomode hooked up and let him do the unbiased testing.

A quick plug for an acquaintance of mine here in the UK, V8burble, who is preparing to perform a comparison of the Mevo+ with GC2/HMT later this week. Get your suggestions in here for the content of the review:

The other thing that bothers me is that in all video comparisons to date, there is always something "off" with the setup. Example: The video comparison of Quad v MEVO+ v SkyTrak, we find out they raised the MEVO up a little for driver, and the launch angle on MEVO+ was, not surprisingly, lower on driver. At the same time, they have the SkyTrak and GC sitting on a stand, slightly elevated above the impact area.
Don't get me wrong. I appreciate the effort, and the people who have done these are all reputable. If you're going to take the time to do these comparisons, set them up per the manufacturer's spec..

I haven’t watched the videos yet, but E6 Connect with Mevo+ has a known bug that displays sidespin direction opposite of what it should be (but ballfight curves correct direction).
-
That’s interesting. In the video balls that start right and draw (on gc2) were staying right and fading. Sounds somewhat consistent with the E6 connect big but this was within the mevo software. All other numbers were spot on so let’s hope this is fixable.Last edited by trumb1mj; 03-01-2020, 05:59 PM.

I watched the shanky and Burble vid the other day.
Hats off to the guys , thorough testing , and spent a lot of time on this
.
The spin axis is absolutely terrible though, I did expect it wouldn't match up to foresight but this was very bad it has to be said.

I'm willing to give Flightscope the benefit of the doubt here. Their testing may have already been completely invalidated if shanky was behind a firmware update. Based on how things went with the OG Mevo roll out, initial bugs were swiftly remedied with updates.Last edited by trumb1mj; 03-01-2020, 08:05 PM.

fwiw, in my experience so far and testing against the SkyTrak, the Mevo+ is very accurate with spin axis. I can feel a fade or draw shot, and don’t believe I’ve had even one shot that read opposite of reality.- Ron at GunghoGolf.com - we specialize in TrackMan, FlightScope, Foresight, Uneekor, SkyTrak, Garmin, Bushnell, TGC, and E6 Connect. 512-861-4151 or email hello AT gunghogolf.com.

The last firmware update that I'm aware of happened when I got home with the unit from the PGA Show. Not sure what it addressed.

I agree. I tested side by side with my ST in the FS golf app and have not seen one single issue with opposite curvature.
What I have come to realise though is that my ST handles thin shots horribly, spin wise.
My Mevo has issues detecting/reading really thin shots and display to much spin on drivers, that is the issues I seen.

What question this also has me asking is that the test video for which this thread is based was not independent? as why was the results of that testing asked to be removed.

Dax The test of the three systems had a lot of setup questions. Example, with driver they said they elevated MEVO+ a bit. Not coincidentally, MEVO had lower launch angles than the other two units. Also, the SkyTrak and the GC were slightly elevated above the hitting area. That video and the data are still up and available.
Regarding the latest MEVO vs GC2 test videos that were taken down, I don't think it's fair to speculate their removal suggests a lack of independence. They did invite FS to comment on the video. Maybe FS saw something they missed? Maybe they weren't on the latest app or the unit didn't have the latest firmware? I know I didn't see anything in the setup that was flawed. I think anytime you're testing a radar unit with a floor-based camera unit set next to the ball, you're going to get questions about possible interference.

GungHoGolf My driver spin is running between 3500-4000 on the Mevo+. On my Skytrak and on an outdoor Trackman when I was fitted, I was between 2000-2300
