This may be a stupid question, but If the mevo is connecting to the iPad/computer through its own WiFi signal, how can you compete in online tournaments?

Not a stupid question... I dont think you can real time on iPad without some kind of adapter from firewire to ethernet + HDMI if you also want to project. PC would be more possible with an additional USB wifi adapter and connecting to 2 networks, the Mevo with your internal wifi and then your home wifi with the USB adapter..Originally posted by FSUsmith View Post

A follow-on question (my ignorance may be the issue!
), but when using an iOS device (tried both ipad and iphone) to connect to mevo+... I can seemingly no longer mirror my screen to my TV. I assume as I'm no longer connected to the same network. Any thoughts on solving this (apart from connecting via HDMI which won't work well in my case due to distance from screen)?

In the coming weeks I'm upgrading to a gaming laptop, so starting to look at whether I can connect to mevo+ with wifi, and the internet via Ethernet. Although reasonably computer-literate, I'm quickly out f depth on various tech forums. Not sure if it's achievable or not. -
Yes, with a laptop it's no problem to connect to internet via ethernet and to the Mevo+ via wifi. As an alternative to ethernet, you can also buy a cheap ($15-20) USB Wifi dongle on Amazon and connect it to the Mevo+ while your main wifi is connected to the internet. -
Neepster, I bought a Legion gaming laptop. Impressed with the laptop. has plenty of ports and has a Ethernet port and a HDMI port as well. I connect laptop via wifi to the Mevo + and then hardwire laptop to modem. Works great.

GungHoGolf I actually tried your suggestion without success. I cannot get this to work with my PC which does not have a wifi dedicated card inside. I have a “TP-Link” Wireless USB Adaptor which can provide internet without issues to my PC, I can clearly see the Mevo on the list as an option. When I put in the PW is just says “Can’t connect to this network”. Any thoughts?Comment

tonybrown32 I used the correct PW. I have been successful in connecting on my iPhone and IPad without issues using the same PW.
I was wondering if it was an issue with the Mevo connecting to a adaptor vs a hardwired wireless card. I tried several times and closing out and trying again. As my idea was to connect to the Mevo to ensure it can connect. Then connect my PC with the LAN line so I can play the full subscription. However it just would not connect. As I mentioned previously, I have had this adapter on a couple of my PC’s for wireless internet connections so I know the adapter works for that.
May this point I am wondering if there is a setting on my PC that needs to be activated or something through the adapters software that needs to be adjusted? I’m at a lost at the moment. Eventually I was going to purchase a new workstation laptop to use for the Sim and work, however I have 3 PCs in my home office with good graphics cards and processors.Comment

This is a great point. It’s something I suggested to Flightscope in the past, which is to enable Mevo+ to join an existing Wifi network, hopefully they can look into this. I think this will pose a lot of challenges for people otherwise. In my case I’d like to Airplay to an Apple TV so I could adjust the screen size/resolutions, while still keeping the Apple TV connected to my network, but can’t do this with the current setup. In fact - I wouldn’t even need to do this if there was better PC software support (rather than just IOS)
We should create a thread to gather top feature requests, I think just a few extra features would make a world of difference with this unit. With fairness, this is really targeting a new market and use cases than what they had with there previous products, so will take some time to tweak and evolve...

Flightscope really need to sort this out. It’s so frustrating to buy a mevo+ unit with the recommended compatible iPad, to use in online play only to find your iPad can’t do it. Such a shame as the mevo+ is superbComment

I am still waiting for my Mevo+ so I cannot test, but I am planning on connecting my iPad to the internet via Bluetooth. It would go something like this:
Connect iPad to Mevo+ directly via WiFi
Connect laptop to home WiFi
Share laptop internet connection via Bluetooth
Connect iPad to laptop via Bluetooth
Use Lighting to HDMI adapter for projector.
I can confirm I can share my laptop internet with my iPad via Bluetooth.

I think during one of the webinars they said that you could connect a smart t.v. to the mevo+ WiFi signal and get the iPad to mirror to the t.v. through the mevo+ WiFi as well. I never tried it because the smart t.v. I have is a Samsung and it has its own app and does not use the airplay feature.Comment
