To those of you that have a mat height difference compared to the mevo+ how does it affect the readings when using E-6 (I use the iOS version). Do you notice a difference in launch angles compared to the FS app? Do you raise the mevo+ up at all? Thanks for any answers you may have or input you can provide. Trying to get assistance from FS support as well.

Mat Adjustment with Mevo+ and E-6

I think you'll have to experiment, based on your environment, but I'll tell you my experience. I've used a fiberbuilt mat system that is about 2" above the ground for a while... and I've used Mevo+ in several configurations... here's a quick summary of my experience:Originally posted by Shankz View PostTo those of you that have a mat height difference compared to the mevo+ how does it affect the readings when using E-6 (I use the iOS version). - Ok results - Mevo+ on the floor 2" below the hitting surface, and set the app to a tee height of 2"
- Worst results - Mevo+ on a raised surface at the same height as the hitting surface, with gap in flooring between Mevo+ and ball

I am set up in my backyard which is on a slight grade. I can’t level the yard so I have been trying to use different height adjustments by raising the mevo+ and varying the angles a bit. Can’t find a “best” solution yet. Experimenting with bridging across from the mevo+ to the hitting mat right now but unfortunately I don’t have the most analytical mind when it comes to methodical testing. I can get the FS app to work real well but still having issues when it comes to E-6, specifically launch angles. I am 3-8 degrees lower in E-6 than when in FS but putting is spot on.

Ahh.. sure..
Make sure the "tilt" angle on the Mevo+ is at 12 degrees for E6 as well, likely you have already. There are times I forget to check the tilt after using FS Golf, and keep it at or around 15-16 degrees, and I get lower launch in E6 then.. until I adjust the tilt to the recommended 12 degrees using E6. I've also had more issues with odd readings when the Mevo+ is above the hitting surface... there doesn't seem to be any downward adjustment for tee height...

When I set up I use the angle gizmo that came with the mevo+ when using E-6. Since my yard has a little slope the angle winds up being 13.5* I have varied it up and down trying find the sweet spot but no luck as of yet. I will have to keep trying but need to take time off between experiments because my arms are getting tired which then makes for sloppy results

If you can see the spot where your ball hits the net or screen, and use a tape measure to measure from the floor to the spot, you can determine the exact and actual vertical launch angle (and horiz launch angle) for any shot using this spreadsheet (make a copy of it then enter your exact ball-to-screen distance):

Thanks Ron. I do have my net marked and when in FS app things seem to be spot on but in E-6 the angle drops by 3-8*. It seems very odd and has me baffled at the moment. I will try hitting later again this afternoon.Originally posted by GungHoGolf View PostIf you can see the spot where your ball hits the net or screen, and use a tape measure to measure from the floor to the spot, you can determine the exact and actual vertical launch angle (and horiz launch angle) for any shot using this spreadsheet (make a copy of it then enter your exact ball-to-screen distance):

I have a 2” mat height. My best results in all apps is raising unit to about .25” below mat height but saying 0” tee height. I have a gap with lower between unit and mat. My launch angles have always been good in all apps and consistent using full tilt in FS apps and provided angle device in E6.

Ok, I seem to have made some good progress. What I did was to bridge from my mevo+ to my hitting mat with a pair of 2x10’s. I had done this before but with just a piece of 5/4 decking which did produce solid results so I had started looking at other possibilities which did not pan out so I went back to the beginning but expanded the bridge with based on suggestions from some members here and from FS support (Tony, Ron, Rich, & Schalk). I did not level the bridge from mevo+ to tee. In the past I had leveled the mevo+ to the hitting mat by raising it with patio blocks. This gave decent launch angles but there seemed to be a lot of misreads and seemed to produce the dreaded 28.3 launch angle. I set the bridge so it’s as close to the yard slope as possible and meeting up with the hitting mat. It is just about an 1/8” lower than my hitting mat and putting surface. It’s hard to tell if the launch angle is spot on because the wind is blowing my net in and out so it’s changing the distance from tee to impact but I think it’s within a degree or 2. I will see about fine tuning it another day. I may have to vary the mevo+ tilt a little based on the yard slope but al in all things seem a lot more accurate and consistent. Thanks again

Sheesh if we have to do all of these adjustments to get accurate readings with a raised mat, FS might need to make some adjustments to their product...

I will say mine has pretty much “just worked”. I think my current setup is marginally better but other than right spin axis on balls that start right from pre .09 (I have been busy so limited testing on .09 at home) I’m talking an extra no read or weird read in 50 shots so this is just my perception.
Other than pure software mistakes (initially I had mat height set wrong) I’ve never had systematic no reads or crazy launches in any setup. Clearly others have though.

I have the mevo+ in my garage with a gap between the mat and the unit but I made sure the height of the mevo+ on my riser and mat is the same using a bubble level and haven't seen any issues with launch angles. Only issue I see is the spin axis and shot shape on the driver.

Unfortunately it’s not as simple as plug and play sometimes but in all fairness it seems as is I have several monkey wrenches tossed it the mix with my set up.Originally posted by trumb1mj View PostSheesh if we have to do all of these adjustments to get accurate readings with a raised mat, FS might need to make some adjustments to their product...
