  • VX App and the Mevo +

Yesterday 23/6/2020 on the Crowdcast webinar it was said that the VXApp was now compatible with the Mevo+
After downloading the VXApp the software stated that it would not work with the the Mevo+.

Just had a live chat with Flightscope, who confirmed that they were not compatible, and we need to most likely wait for the fully integrated software to appear. Timescale a month or two.

Thanks for the update! I heard that too and got curious but didn't have time to research further. I can't wait for the VX app on Mevo+.

Even though it lack some contemporary feel that app is a gamechanger for me. Great functionality and i can not wait for it to show up in my phone/Ipad. Crossing my fingers for working speed profiles.

I'm new to flightscope and patiently waiting for Mevo+

Why should I be excited for the VX app? What does it do that skills and golf doesn't?

        Thanks

The most important addition imo is the acceleration profiles. If you understand those they are great tools for shaft fitting but also for tuning your swing, making it more consistent.
There are a lot more but it all depends on what data FS allows the app to use. I have really high expectations since the app it self is more of a professional tool compared to Golf and Skills.
Check the link below and you will get my point. If they do not release more data for the VX, the app has no purpose compared to Skills/Golf in the Mevo+.

It can also be that they are consolidating their apps (very likely) and in that case i will be disappointed since the benefits will only be given to X3 owners, not Mevo+.

Thank you. Now I will now be disappointed if the acceleration profiles are not included with Mevo +

At today's webinar by Henri Johnson (Flightscope CEO) he hinted that Face Path and club path may be available in the new software foe Mevo+

There are apparently only two versions going to available a FSgolf and a Skills. All other software it is to be integrated into these two. No time frame was given, except watch this space

If this is true i will wet my pants
Mevo+ will blow most of the competition out of the water.

If it is to good to be true, it probably isn't true. Crossing my fingers.....

I wonder if they'll make you pay an upgrade to get that information displayed

I’ve been told by support it is possible so I’ve been holding out hope it would happen eventually. This would be way sooner than I’d thought possible though.

If it’s at no extra cost that’s even more shocking and amazing but I’d happily pay a fee within reason (I’ll have to think a bit more on the max I’d pay).

It would be a nice “sorry for the 16+ week wait” for that upgrade to be free

I watched the webinar this morning. I think the most important takeaway for me was the repeated references to focusing in the consumer market. This bodes well for support on Mevo+. It’s the first statement of this nature I’ve seen from one of the more we’ll known companies making high end units.

Consumer market is a wide range but I feel like the $2-$3k is getting in that ballpark especially with portability and some included simulation. I know there is often pushes on this forum to “just get a Uneekor or GC2” without a lot of acknowledgment it’s a pretty decent price jump and one requires fixed install which won’t work for lots of average users.

I’m biased as I now own one but I’m really hoping FS pulls this off successfully for themselves as that benefits us. TM and Foresight seem to solely focus on how to extract every dollar from each customer they can (both have great products which I’m not disputing) which makes it hard to see a path to mainstream consumer options.

To me, as nice of a product as TGC 2019 is, being pigeonholed into a binary decision between it and FSX ($$$$) doesn't sit well with me when I consider a GC2. It would be nice if Foresight had more simulation partners, though I know its focus is on the commercial end of things.

Mevo+, Skytrak and Uneekor QED at least give you several options to select from, depending on your budget and needs/preferences, not to mention the possibility of transferring non-TGC licenses between platforms if you change monitors.

I'd still love to have a GC2 but it would always bother me a bit, just as the mandatory $100/yr bugs me about Skytrak - even though it's chump change, the idea that I'm paying recurring fees to unlock interface features between a device and software I have already purchased is just... unsavoury.
