  • Firmware update?

    I am trying to update my firmware on my iPad. Has been in progress for 40 min. I am connected to WiFi with mevo plus. Don’t have Ethernet or cellular capability on ipad at moment. It says not to stop update but not sure if something is wrong. Any suggestions? I could do it on my iPhone but I’m assuming it will interrupt the update? There are no directions about updates so this is frustrating. Would greatly appreciate insight

    Update: got some good advice and forced the app to close and tried again. It worked. Should only take 1-2 min. Hopefully this helps someone in future

    cwuga3 Thanks for the advice....I had the same issue with my Mevo+. I shut down the app, and reinstalled the update (only took about 30 seconds). It all seemed to work fine, as I completed the session with my student and shutdown the Mevo+. However, when I later tried to restart the Mevo+ when connected to power, the unit would not turn on. I disconnected it from the power source and it started on battery power, the unit went through the normal series of blinking LEDs and beeps and it appeared to be back to normal, but after about a second the LED second from the left turned white and the unit shutdown. Repeated attempts to start the unit were unsuccessful.

    I contacted Flightscope support and they sent me instructions to perform a hard reset, which is basically taking out the battery and reinstalling it. No luck! I am currently waiting for Flightscope support for further instructions. I'm hoping there is another procedure to try and I don't have to send it in for repair.

    My advice is if you experience the same symptoms in performing the latest firmware update as cwuga3 and I, is to contact Flightscope support right away before attempting anything else.

      I have found most firmware updates freeze for me using FS Golf and I have to exit out and try again (always worried I’ll get a big issue but no problems thus far). I always remember after that FS Skills works better for me and never seems to hang.

      Did .12 update today no problem going straight to Skills (.11 had issues in my first try in Golf then worked in Skills).

        I got my Mevo+ 2 days ago. First thing I saw was download firmware (on ipad) I clicked it.
        There is no progress bar or anything. The unit seemed to do something for a few minutes, but then the monitor kept saying "dont turn offf......".
        I waited 20 mins, then restarted without issue.
        I connected it up with my android phone (to fs golf app).
        It downloaded firmware once again.

        I reconnected to the mevo+, and after a few minutes it said something like "Radar is uptodate"

        Anyway, no issues now.

        The fw upgrade process is way to confusing. (im an IT guy as well)

          Karlz My experience with FW updates matches yours. Never a definitive closeout or pop-up signaling the update is complete. FS warns you never to interrupt a firmware update. But, what are you supposed to do when you don't get a clear "all clear" signal?
