Latest FS Golf App Update

Went outside to practice a few drills and then fired up the mevo+ and launched the app to find a nice 3D rendering of a driving range. You can now watch your ball flight from various angles. It looks real nice so I teed one and fired it off, man 30 yards more carry then I am used to, this must be one hell of a drill I tried. Several more shots with the same results even though contact was not great. Each club I tried gave me about the same 30 yards extra so I went to E-6 and hit some and lost the 30 yards. So I called FS support and spoke to someone who said that they have been getting numerous calls on this and are working on an update for the update to be released as soon as possible to correct the miscalculations. All in all the new look of the app and 3D rendering looks great but I am not sure how a glitch like this makes it out into the real world. I’m wondering if FS should change it’s motto from “Data you can trust” to “Data that makes you go WTF!”

Their Facebook page says there is a bug that includes wind. You can disconnect and reconnect the device to zero out the wind and your distances will go back to normal.

Must be playing in some serious wind for an additional 30 yards. I closed out the app and hit in E-6 and then went back to the FS app and still got the extra yardage. When I called support the gentleman on the phone said nothing about a wind bug but I will try it again when I get the chance.

Set your phone or tablet to airplane mode (to turn off cellular data and weather reports), which will turn off the "excess windage that causes long carry" bug in the new FS Golf app.

Ha! Feel like I pretty much do. But note this tip is second-hand, I haven't confirmed myself. Came from some users in my Mevo+ group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/mevoplus/

They've just (1.30pm UK time 29/10) dropped another update which hopefully fixes the distance bug... will try out later

It’s not just in outdoor mode. I play in short indoor and my numbers are trash. Even after today’s bug fix update I’m getting 185 yard carry 7irons with an 88mph swing speed. I’m a single digit handicap who’s had a SkyTrak for years, I know my numbers and my 7 is a 175 max club if I swing all out and flush it.

Oddly driver is the exact opposite. I have a 110mph swing speed and routinely hit 275+. I have to really miss a drive to be under 250. Nearly every drive in E6, FS Skills and FS golf doesn’t break 250. Even flushed balls that are big baby draws are carrying 240. I know that’s nonsense.

I got my unit on Saturday and it was perfect. It has been absolutely awful since Tuesday. I have to say as a former SkyTrak owner I’m growing unimpressed with Mevo+. At least ST was consistently accurate.
