Today I fixed the ghost putting issue in my garage set up.

Today I fixed the ghost putting issue in my garage set up.

I have a projector hanged on ceiling.
If I turn the projector completely off, all the problems I have are gone.
Mevo can also read all the long putts as well.

My current projector model is EPSON EH-TW5200.

If you guys have ghost putting issues, try to power off the projector.

Do you guys think it would solve the issue by changing the projector?

Can you recommend a projector that would not interfere the Mevo+?

Would a future firmware update solve this interference problem without changing the projector?

    What are your thoughts guys?

      8.2 feet from the ground.

I also received reply from Flightscope Support.

"I would suggest before changing the projector to try using aluminum insect mesh wrapped around the projector. The new firmware that we will be releasing within the next few days or in next week would also fix this."

It seems like the new firmware will fix this without changing the projector.

Hope the new firmware turns out good.

If I were you I would see about wrapping it in that mesh FS has talked about. Sorry I don’t know the name but I believe it’s just regular screen material.
Read this thread, perhaps that will clarify it a little. https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...ence-questions

I just bought the Aluminium Flyscreen and wrapped the projector with the Flyscreen. But it still results in the same ghost puttings sadly.

And again, as soon as I power off the projector, the ghost putting stopped and everything works flawlessly.

So, the Faraday Cage does not work to me.

          Thank you

Out of curiosity, what are you using to hold your Mevo+ unit? I've tried to find a "protective case" for the unit, but it appears as if you have something similar to that?

From looking at your pictures it seems like the mevo+ is almost directly beneath your projector. What distance do you have between the mevo+ and the ball? If you have currently have 8’ try moving the unit to 7’ and see what happens.

Have you tried the Mevo+ unplugged, running off battery? Have you tried plugging either the Mevo+ or the projector into a different circuit? It's possible the projector is making the electrical circuit extra noisy, and has nothing to do with the fan/unit itself.

Hey, I got an email from Flightscope saying that I need to wrap the projector a bit more not to leave any open space.

I just did it more tight wrapping around the projector. I only left the front lens area open.

And suddenly all the problems I had are finally gone.

Now it seems 99.9% reading on puttings and chippings.

I cannot believe all the issues were only caused by a projector.

For those who have the same ghost putting issues, I highly recommend to try to power off the projector and see if the issues are gone.

Your material looks quite flexible, is it metal? What gauge, and where did you buy?

Do you have a picture of your new wrap?

I'm wondering if you floor mount a projector does that reduce/eliminate the interference.

This mesh will work: https://amzn.to/3oP7Z35. Floor mounting a projector would likely be worse, as it would be more directly in line with the radar. The protective enclosure may reduce it's effect, however, depending on what it was made of.

              Hey all!

I wanted to just add to this post on my experience this last week. I updated the firmware on the Mevo+ to the .16 version I believe. The latest as of last week. Anyway, I started to get the ghost putting as well. Prior to that update, I almost never could get putting to work. After doing the update I tried some putting and it was actually working really well. Turned everything off and tried it again the next day and had all sorts of ghost putting going on. It would just continuously ghost putt. Then reset and putt again. I am so glad I had read this forum string. I went to the garage and grabbed some 1/4" x 1/4" (I think) bird screen. I had a couple pieces laying around from a prior project. They are only about 1 foot x 1 foot square. I put a ladder under my projector and held up the two pieces of bird screen under the projector and bam! no ghost putting. As soon as I removed the screens, it would putt. I tried just one piece and it would eventually putt. So two it was. I just quick zip tied the two pieces directly under the projector and played a round with some buddies. Putting worked great!

This is what my setup is like. I have a 5' x 5' hitting mat about 7' in front of the mevo. My projector is actually about 9' off the floor and about the same distance in front of the mevo. My screen is about 8 to 8-1/2' in front of the hitting mat. (All distances are center of mat). I putt just off to the right of the hitting mat. It is NOT the same level as the floor. The hitting mat is about 1-1/2" tall.

All this to say it looks like FS is really getting somewhere on the updates. I'm excited for the continued progress on making it better.

              Hope this helps someone else.
