  • Awesome results with the Latest Mevo 0.17 DSP update

    Finally Putting actually works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was about to give up with the putting all together. I have tried so many different options to try and make it work.
Now if someone could explain the difference between the Stimp and Speed settings in TGC 2019. Then I should be able to dial it in.

The mixed results of this latest update are interesting. I have yet to see one positive comment on Facebook. Good to know it's working for some people.

What are others saying on Facebook? While the ghost putts over a certain distance seem to be resolved, I’m finding putts on v.17 aren’t registering as well. I’ve tried various setups thus far and will keep at it. Hope it’s my setup and not another firmware issue.

Just a lot of comments about chips not registering and putts not being read. What version did you have prior to the update?

I had the latest 0.16 firmware version prior to upgrading to the latest today. My setup hasn't changed at all. The chipping is great on 0.17 from what I have tested, and the ghost putts over 27ft are gone, but that seems to come at the expense of putts not being read consistently (again). Frustrating, but I'll get in touch with support to see what the options are.

Yep, back to v12 until v17 gets ironed out. V12 is pretty dang solid for me though. Only issue I have is sometimes chipping launch angle is off and driver spin is high.

You all keep scaring me. I’ve never left v12 as I was busy at work when all the clunky versions came out. I’m so worried about “upgrading” now.

You can always get rolled back. My unit is currently in the shop. Had the red flashing lights when I tried to turn the unit off and FS had me send my unit in for repair or replacement. My unit was mostly good except for high driver spin and I updated through .16 firmware. I was one of the early Mevo+ owners and got my unit in July of last year. .16 initially gave me some ghost putting, but then I found a work around by setting fastputting to 75 feet in TGC and that seemed to stop the ghost putts for the most part. I would still get them from time to time, but nothing terrible. I was holding out hope for .17, but then I got the red lights and had to send my unit back. They said they would calibrate it and repair it or replace it if they could not fix it. At this point I think I'm hoping for a new unit because it seems as if the newer units are performing better than the first few batches of the Mevo+ that were shipped. Would be great to have a meet up with multiple Mevo+ owners to compare numbers.

My unit is from batch 1 I think. I’ve had it over a year. I’ve heard rumblings they used less powerful radars in the newer ones so not sure if it’s better or worse to get a new unit.

Be nice if they talk about some of these challenges in the webinar tomorrow but I find these things turn in to fluff pretty quick. I can’t attend so hoping it’s recorded.

This update has worked awesome for me. My unit would disconnect multiple times per round and would ghost putt outside 20 feet. It also would not read and putt with pace. Chips were also not reading correct. I would get random results with the short chips. Maybe different versions work better in different environments? I was about to turn mine in before and now i enjoy it. I would say if you don't have any issues with your version then keep it. My chipping and putting reads are so much better now.

Things have been working for me as well. Hopefully the Mevo webcast today will answer some questions today. What I do not understand is the lack of guidance/info on how to setup or provide the right settings in the flightscope interface for TGC 2019. WHat would be helpfull is an explanation of what all the fields mean/do.

Fit2Win, from what support told me it is a threshold of when the radar will get more sensitive in order to pick up a faster rolling putt. I have it set back to the default of 32ft after getting the new firmware and seems to working great! No ghost putts at all.
Nice, I am on the north shore. I am currently creating the Red Tail golf club(Devens MA) course. I will let you know when I publish it and you can check it out.

Fit2Win Great! If you play it a lot (I have only played it twice and really like it) you can tell me if there are specific areas that are missing and I can add them in. Like OB areas that I should or large rocks that could be in play that would add difficulty to play, a specific tree that needs to be in play...etc

Play a round last night with .17 and loved it! I thought putting was great! I hit multiple 1 putts and except for a couple VERY long putts (which I didn't have any ghost putts) I two putted the rest. The speeds seem to be way more consistent. I felt chipping was right on also. Flops or low chips all read perfectly. I think they updated the penalty for hitting out of green side bunker cause it seemed I had to hit the ball a lot harder now to get it out. Which I am ok with, just got to get used to it.
I had gone back to v.12 a week or so back and the ghost putts were gone, but the no-read putts were rampit, so I went back to v.16 a couple nights ago. I think v.17 is best of both worlds of those fireware.
I am definitely not hitting in the idea area either. My sim is setup in my garage with a running fridge and a minivan to my right.

What software are you using? I'm using E6 and the putting has become worse as far as misreads. From what I'm seeing, it looks like things may have improved in a positive way for TGC.

So it could be a software-related difference in E6 vs. TGC?

0.17 gives me lots of no reads on FS Golf last night. I haven't tried putting at all.

this update is a disaster for me.
Mevo sees me 70% of putts with often incorrect speeds, mevo sees me no approach except lob shots. both with the dots on the ball and without, both at 12degrees and 18degs, and at different distances from the mevo plus.
                        really disappointed.
I believe there are different mevo plus based on when one ordered it, and I believe some will be fine. but for 2k money I'm a little pissed off.
                        I uptdate from 0.16 with e6

I had a lot more no reads on the FS range but no issues on E6. Most missed shots were woods and lower irons. Never had this issue on prior updates
