Definitely going to be clubpath info, haha but seriously I wish they'd have just told us what it is instead of hyping it for some unknown time in the future on sm.

Probably more unlockable data points for a subscription or flat fee.

        Some new simulator software access??

I've seen the speculation that hardware wise these units aren't a lot different than the bigger brothers. I wonder if that is truly the case and some tiered features are able to be accessed like has been speculated like club path or face data. The timing for it with Garmin jumping in and hyping their low cost option seems right.

A few weeks ago, FS did a YT video QA on MEVO+ with Alex Trujillo. On that video, Alex said MEVO+ would eventually offer club speed on "dry swings" for speed training. I suspect that is part of it.

But, to dash a few hopes, including my own, during that video Alex was asked if MEVO+ would ever show path and face angle data, and he basically said no. In his words "I don't see how it could do that."

My hopes aren’t dashed for path data as the CEO awhile back all but said it was possible (and he’s an engineer not a sales guy). I think they changed their tune after he mentioned that to differentiate the X3 but I think competition is finally truly starting in this market so they may rethink their position.

ah, that sucks.. I figured it was club path (or hoped) also. My buddy sent me this today, he has a mevo+ I just got an R10, I told him I figured it was probably club path also.. guess we'll find out soon. The club path data was the main reason I chose r10 over the mevo+, for now at least.

This might be our most cutthroat comparison yet. Golf reviewer Marc pits 2025's top golf launch monitors with simulation against each other in 10 categories! See how they scored in the categories that matter most to you!

this shows club path as radar measured metric

As stated by Garmin themselves, R10 only measures ball speed, club head speed, launch angle, and launch direction. https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?fa...ata&tab=topics and also mentioned here: https://mygolfsimulator.com/garmin-r10-data/

But yeah, I can only assume it does measure some more stuff internally as surely those 4 metrics aren't enough to calculate shot shape. But seeing all the reviews so far, R10 does often get the shot shape completely wrong where it'll show a draw when it's an actual fade shot and vice versa. So maybe Garmin thought it wasn't accurate enough to say it's measuring some of the data such as club or ball spin data even though it may be measuring it internally. I reckon we need a year worth of firmware updates before we get to know its true potential.

I'm fairly confident the Mevo+ has the ability to measure club path. If it is actually measuring AOA which would be the tangent of club path related to the tee then club path is already measured. If it can measure the club paths vertical relationship at impact it can surely measure the horizontal relationship too. Face angle would be another easy calculation to release with unlocked club path as well. I can also tell you with 100% certainty the Mevo+ measures club acceleration profiles just like the X3. That doesn't mean much to me except there's potential data FS is hiding to protect the X3.

Unfortunately I don't think there's anything FS can release to increase spin and spin axis measurements

We know that few things were already in the works such as FS Golf for PC and Augmented reality ball flight tracer. Both were said to be released Q4 this year. by FS before. So I wonder if it's one of these, or if this is something completely new and unexpected. If it is something unexpectr, then it would be really cool getting some of the X3 software features such as environmental optimiser or multi-cam support.

I’ll be pretty disappointed if it’s something they already confirmed is in the works. To roll out a teaser email when competition is heating up to then have it be things they told us about going on a year ago falls pretty short in my opinion. That said this whole teaser thing is weird to me unless it’s a partnership thing they can’t share until a date. If you’re adding club path just say it you aren’t drumming up more sales because something random may be coming.

I heard the announcement is a couple weeks away and it's new features, not new sim access

                Just dreaming....

A Trackman / Uneekor-like driving range PC software with as good graphics would be a cool upgrade.

Or a PC version of FS Golf that can run at the same time as TGC 2019 would be awesome also. (uneekor can do this and records all your shot data and with videos and can even show it on another monitor while playing a sim at same time)

Or an upgraded ability for Mevo+ to be connected to 2 different devices at same time (e.g. ipad and PC) and feed both with same data simultaneously to be able to achieve the above.

Or ability to use 2 mevo+ units at same time (join) to achieve X3-level accuracy or extra club data would be ridiculously awesome.

                Haha...

I don't think the connectivity thing will ever happen unless they can figure out a way to add a Bluetooth or additional network adapter to the unit out of thin air, but I'd take the ability to connect directly to a PC via USB to make things a little quicker.

I'd be ok with a network connection mode and some more club data

They can add any type of connectivity they wish thru USB. It's a Rasberry Pi so it has USB. I'd love to connect ethernet to PC with PC client. I don't think they will though.

I had an unrelated tech support call yesterday and during the call, I was told that fs skills was going to be incorporated into the fs golf. I've had some issues flipping between the apps and getting consistent reads when doing so which was part of the reason for the inquiry. The fs golf app does have a more modern and polished appearance. It would be nice to be able to driving range warmup then just move to a different mode within the same app while remaining connected to the LM. Not sure this would warrant the splashy SM hit but who knows these days.

My hope is more club data. I would pay a subscription for club path and face to path. Worth $100/year just for that to be measured instead of calculated.

I'm all for club data but not as a subscription. I bought Flightscope in part because of the lack of subscription.
