Tbh, I'm more curious on how much more accurate & reliable it becomes for existing data parameters indoors with Fusion Tracking. and also for putting.

I wonder if there will be lighting requirements for the camera.

That's a good point as my indoor setting is quite dark with only a spot light pointing around the ball area. and the bright projected screen background probably won't help either I assume.

    This was posted earlier: https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...l-be-available

and with that, I made a post here also for non-Mevo+ owners: https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...namic-loft-etc

Mostly curious on if it will make simulator play more reliable. If they can offer a 30-day trial for the pro package that would get a lot of folks through the door.

100%. A trial period would be great for sure so that people can test how well Fusion Tracking works in their (usually dimly lit) indoor setup.

If this works as advertised, I wonder how much this will cannibalize the X3 sales that is roughly $10k more than a Mevo+ w/ Pro Package

      Comment

      • #35
Doesn't seem likely. X3 is a more robust unit with additional features like auto leveling. If I were a pro doing outdoor fittings, I'd still buy the flagship model.

Edit: DS12 oops, this was supposed to be a comment.

From the landing page it reads as though fusion tracking will be included for all, which is great news for those who struggle with the short chips. Regarding the other data parameters as part of the pro subscription I will be interested to hear if the $1k will be worth it. Would also be nice for existing users to receive a discount of some sort.

Well holy smokes. That is quite a big announcement.

I wonder when Fusion Tracking will become available. I know the Pro Package is January, but maybe Fusion Tracking will run through an update sooner. Would love to see the Pro Pack released as a trial for free until January to current Mevo+ users, then in January ask for the $1k to keep using the data

I'm really impressed, the offerings at this price point put the mevo + in their own category for measured parameters. No subscription required is nice, the upgrade stays with the unit so no issues about transfers if you sell it. Not required to go for it if you don't want all the extra measured items. Fusion tracking comes for free as a firmware update for all current users. It sounds like there will be a pre-show price for current mevo+ owners that will be less than the $1k price. My assumption is we'll see something like $800-$900 if we go off what their current unit promo's look like.

Also good news the new titleist ball is going to be something the mevo plus' can use. The flightscope owner "no big deal'd" the titleist tech saying they had this done in 2005 and didn't bother to patent it... but that yes the LM's will work with it, and that flightscope will have a joint announcement with titleist covering this off in the future. Lots of great news the way I see it.

For all the folks grousing about the extra money, I'm not feeling that. Yes we all paid a lot for the unit, but it's fractional dollars on any other unit that will get close to doing the same things. There's nothing out there that measures this much for this money. GC3 at $6k? to measure 11 parameters? obviously some different considerations in the photo vs radar but oof, this announcement today swung the pendulum hard for me in case you can't tell

                  Let's go!

I haven’t had a chance to watch the FS live yet (hoping it hit recorded somewhere) but anyone that complains about a cost fit this upgrade is totally off base in my opinion. We all bought the device at its current parameters and they’ve made a significant upgrade and should get revenue from it (particularly given we don’t have any ongoing costs if we chose to use the included E6 or a one time TGC purchase). They could easily have come out with a whole new unit and charged $3k (or more) for what they’re providing do this is a huge win.

My only caveat is I’m hoping this fixes the driver spin issue with short ball flight (either with the fusion tracking or the RCT ball) as that needs addressing on this unit at no cost.

This is amazing. I own both the Mevo+ and the X3 and I don't feel that the X3 just got devalued, but rather the Mevo+ just got a massive boost. It's a radar version of the GC3 that includes speed and acceleration profiles and fits in my golf bag. Bam!

I just watched the Flightscope Instagram Live video.

                    Key takeaways were:

                    - Pro package launch date is January 22 (PGA Show). One time upgrade fee of $1000.
                    - It basically makes the Mevo+ into "Mevo+ Pro" unit for life. (it cannot be decoupled, hence transferrable)
                    - Club path / face to path accuracy will be wiithin 1 degree (confirmed by Henri himself in the video)
                    - Pro package club data are all measured, made possible by the separate fusion tracking upgrade.
                    - There may be a promotional upgrade price for existing Mevo+ owners before the launch

                    - Face impact location will be X3-only and won't be added to Mevo+ pro package.
                    - No club face stickers are needed.
                    - Club head speed tracking (with swing plane) without hitting a ball is also coming. (ready by PGA show)

                    - Fusion tracking is a free firmware upgrade to all Mevo+ units and is not part of the pro package.
                    - Fusion tracking firmware upgrade may come sooner than the PGA show
                    - Fusion tracking will improve accuracy for all clubs
                    - Built-in camera is good enough. There may be a lighting requirement however.

                    - Titleist Pro V1 RCT balls were tested with good results. Joint press release will happen soon.

                    - PC app is coming but won't be ready by PGA show. So seems it'll be later. (MAC also)
                    - They are trying to migrate most things into a single FS Golf app. (even some VX stuff)
                    - Alex hinted that a video app with multicam support is coming to Mevo+ (for everyone)

                      Just curious,
If $1000 upgrade is just showing additional data parameters ,which already existed, then, can we get the additional data information on other software like Awesome Golf and TGC 2019 without $1000 upgrade?

Flightscope today said that the pro package dataset will be accessible to third party softwares once activated. I can only assume that the new firmware with fusion tracking may have the capability to measure them, but will be disabled (and thus not measured by the hardware) unless you activate them with a pro license key. So I am doubting that the extra data would be available to be tapped into without it being activated first at the firmware level with the license.

GungHoGolf, right when I was thinking “I wonder if Gung Ho has a similar deal?” You post this. I always like to support fellow enthusiasts and Flightscope benefits anyway.

Anyone: if I have a GC2 and about 18” feet wall to wall. Allowing space for behind the screen and the unit itself, is this enough space for Mevo+? I don’t expect GC2/HMT accuracy but close enough is close enough for me. And if it’s 1-2 degrees off, but always 1-2 degrees off I’m good with that. Like a thermometer that us 5 degrees low but consistently so.

Also I’m using a sportscreen if there is an issue with the aluminum roller

jdang307 Thanks for your support! 17' of room depth is enough for the Mevo+ with an impact screen firmly attached on all 4 sides. 1 foot behind screen, 9 feet of ball flight, 7 feet ball to Mevo+. With 18, recommend 10' of ball flight for more accurate driver reads. Since you have a retractable, those usually require 18" of space behind to screen since the bottom isn't firmly attached, so you're still good.

That was asked, it can't be done it unlocks the hardware for life. So if you sell it the pro package comes with it. Good and bad there. But still no subscription fees.

Didn’t they say it might be released before the show as it’s only a firmware update. The pro package is a license key to open data points. They could release fusion early but wait to release the pro pack at the show to make the $$$ they pay to be at the show worth it. Alex said in the next live session he was going to show the Pro Package data in about a month. So a beta is available if they want a soft release in December or early January
