  • Looks like Fusion Tracking Upcoming for the MEVO+

Not entirely sure what this means for the MEVO +. Hoping it improves inconsistent spin rates on irons and woods, and works to increase general distance accuracy! Very exciting news.

They confirmed it has something to do with using the built-in camera in the below tweet. So I assume ball tracer and better software. But if it does increase the accuracy of the data more, would be awesome also.

We have some big announcements coming for Mevo+ 🙌 FlightScope Founder and CEO Henri Johnson is excited to unveil our latest work involving patented fusion tracking technology. Be the first to know: https://t.co/5ZPwSDDJcu https://t.co/uhzQCdmMAm

If it includes Path Data that would be groundbreaking and a heck of a response to the GC3/Bushnell. Maybe that's too much to ask for right now and I'd certainly take better spin numbers, but at some point we'll be getting path and face angles at this price point. Sasho Mackenzie was saying that Apple could do it on the iPhone if they really wanted to.

Basically, the camera and radar both track the ball. When the start line is “off” the software resolves the difference by shifting the radar tracking over to the camera.

This is discussed in a fb mevo+ user group and a user claims that mevo+ and x3 have the same raspberry pi camera module. They also both have a raspberry pi board inside, with mevo+ having more processing power.

So this fusion tracking could really be huge for mevo+ I guess. On x3 they use it to improve accuracy and to enable accurate short game (including putting) analysis.

I just found this video where Alex explains of what Fusion Tracking basically is (at least on the X3).

It seems to be all about improving the tracking of low trajectory shots such as chip shots (and putting assumpt) that is closer to the ground, by using the built-in camera to tell the radar exactly where the club and ball is so it knows what radar signal to focus on. So if this is it, then that's great and would make the Mevo+ be much more accurate and reliable for chipping & putting. Would be awesome if it's the same (or more) with Mevo+.

Cannot talk about it yet, but it is very exciting stuff coming for the Mevo+ soon. I would recommend that if you currently have a Mevo+, don't switch LMs now. And if you don't yet have a launch monitor, it's a great time to buy a Mevo+ (even before the announcement).

The fact that this Fusion Tracking update is going to make the Mevo+ more accurate is already plenty. Really cool that flightscope is implementing this to make the Mevo+ even better and more competitive. Can't wait!

Any idea if we will get the PC software soon also? I'm really waiting for that as well.

I wonder if a price increase is in the near future as well…

I hope they do not raise the price. That being said they are delivering a more comprehensive product now than a year ago so it does have more value. I think this unit with Fusion and the new Titleist RCT balls would equal a truly top shelf experience that cost quadruple under previous circumstances

Has anyone tried the RCT? Really curious to see results

Titleist gave a surprising amount of info on RCT today. 500 drives into a screen without a drop in performance is very impressive. Also it is a legit PV1 or PV1x with a special coating so not some made for sim ball. You will be able to buy this ball at any golf shop. I wouldn’t be surprised if they simply made it the standard coating. Their data showed spin readings at over 99% of swings recorded. WAY high for anyone that has ever used a radar unit indoors

Yes, club data parameters will come. Only question will be what kind of numbers and how many of them :-)

            • #10
Their website was updated to add more details...release of January 2022 but looks to be a $1000 up charge. Depending on how accurate it is it would be worth the $1k.

An add-on option to Mevo Gen2 and Mevo+ that gives access to more data parameters, including the complete d-plane. No subscription required.

I saw the same thing Mevo+ Pro for $1,000 one time fee, but on the same page it states “Fusion Tracking for Mevo+
Will be available for all Mevo+ customers, no purchase required.” So obviously Fusion Tracking and Mevo+ Pro are not the same thing. What does Fusion Tracking do for us if we didn’t spend the $1,000 ?

Fusion Tracking will be given to all purchasers as a participation trophy. But those lucky few golden ticket winners who actually pay for more data than they originally paid will get more data under the pro package.
