  • Nvidia GeForce 1070

    Hello,

I just received my gaming PC with the Nvidia 1070 Card. I plug it in and display my FSX software. I was previously plugging into to my work laptop which is a DELL...impressed that it displayed with no problem but picture was a little pixelated. SO I get the gaming PC, plug in the HDMI directly from the projector and there is a very subtle increase in video performance. I called Foresight support and we discussed the resolution I was using. The recommended is 1920x1080 (i.e. 1080p). Scott stated that the better the resolution, the better the picture. The Nvidia is at its highest setting 1920x1080...

So, I make this huge investment, and I am still not seeing the detail I thought I would on the screen. I downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia and installed it. Projector is set to HD and has ability to display 1080p. So...I am a bit lost as to why the picture is not outstanding. Any assistance welcome!!

    Thank You!

Hmm. Did you increase quality settings?

I just recently upgraded to a 1070 myself, but use TGC. It's destroying TGC and looks amazing. Coming from a 970 though, which also looked very good, but lagged when stressed due to high polygon environments.

You can try the process for Nvidia listed for FSX in the Foresight support page, and see if that improves it

After further investigation...(playing the courses) the water graphics and tree graphics are significantly better!! A little finer grain which really adds to the experience. The pixelation has decreased significantly. I did have a solid graphics card in my laptop, so this upgrade wasn't as big a step as I thought. Load times are instant as well.

I have to admit, I thought the same when I bought FSX and a 1070 at the same time.
Turns out that FSX just doesn't look as good as TGC! You need to make the sky look a bit cloudy, otherwise it looks really bad with a plain bright blue sky.

It maybe doesn't look as good, but it plays much better!
