GC2 Recommended Firmware

I have a GC2 with version 3.7.0.0, which I have tied in nicely to TGC...........just got my HMT in the mail, advises me to update to newest firmware which is fine.. Which version do I want to install, and will I then have to redo stuff on my TGC.

Will I be able to play TGC courses, and see HMT data on a adjacent Apple Ipad Air?

You can only connect the Gc2 to TGC via Bluetooth and you can only connect to the iPad with Bluetooth and you cannot to both at the same time. The HMT works with any firmware. 3.7 is the worst with TGC IMO. Use any other firmware. I use 3.5.1.1. Changing the firmware s independent to TGC so nothing to do.

Appreciate the followup, Sounds like a firmware change is advised. Could I bother you to fwd 3.5.1.1 to my email barknoll at yahoo dot com?.........or if you would advise a diff. one?
Have to say the 3.7 has been fine with the TGC...but I suppose, nothing to compare against............

How do I get to the 3.5.1.0 download? I now have a GC2 and have had TGC for quite some time.

Edit: nevermind it seems 3.10 will work as well and that is what I have.

I have some of the older versions somewhere. I think MTHUNT sent me 3.5. When I went to HMT, I upgraded to the most recent firmware. Works great for me but no shot counter. I think the newest version is as accurate as the old but some guys still think the old firmware is better.

Hi Guys - pretty old sticky thread here. with tgc2019 does it make any sense to update firmware? What version is the best these days? I’ve noticed with 2019 some shots showing very different carry numbers(+/- 20 yards) than the GC2. Also the the hook bias is getting old. Now that I’m back outside, it’s frustrating to see the hook on the sim and straight shots irl. Any change there is a firmware that improves the hook spin results?

I draw inside and not outside too. The GC2 shows draw inside and doesn’t outside. My conclusion is user error.

I agree with this - I hit a draw anyways (500-750 -spin) indoors and get the pull hook going on, outside don't see that (no gc2) but I know it is left spin (20-30 feet on 150y carry) been working hard to not pull and a use some fade - It's dead on indoors and outdoors. I think it is so important to make sure everything is lined up at the right angle with the LM.

Okay. I could buy that explanation. It’s so accurate makes sense that it’s my swing changing due to the enclosed space. So do we think firmware version doesn’t really matter all that much?

Firmware version does not make a big difference. I used the latest version and it works great!

I’ve used them all and use the latest. Some interacted differently with GSX over the years but other than 3.7 any firmware is fine. 4.0 to me is a tiny bit longer than 3.5 which is the best IMO. I find 4.0 a yard or 2 longer but I have an HMT. Like the OP said 3.5 is the best firmware for TGC. I never tried it with TGC 2019.
