Does anyone have this mat? How does this compare to the 7’x4’ studio mat sold directly by Fiberbuilt and by most resellers? The FS one is one solid piece of turf and the other is in three separate sections. Is the 8’x4’ mat made of the same turf as the hitting area of the 7x4 or does it match the stance part of that mat? I would appreciate any insights into the pros and cons of this mat.

I can't compare the two for you but I did have the 4x7 one at one point. It's a great mat, but it is EXTREMELY forgiving, and I thought it was far too forgiving for me to keep using. It is a good place to start and only one of two I'd recommend (the other being Truestrike).

I called Fiberbuilt and they said the 4x8 was made custom for Foresight because it was tested to provide the most accurate readings for the GCQ and GC2. She said the 4x7 with grass hitting strip is a little more reflective and can cause issues with FS monitor readings. But, the 4x8 is basically just the stance turf, so it seems to not be an ideal hitting surface.
I believe there are many people out there using TrueStrike or the Fiberbuilt mat with the grass hitting section. Has anyone experienced issues with the launch monitors not being able to read ball or club data? I know this is a subjective topic, but is TrueStrike the best option given what I was told?

Probably saw it as an opportunity to sell a cheaper product than the standard FB panels for more $$ in hopes that buyers are uniformed. I’m sure FS is getting that 4x8 for way less than they’d get the real deal 4x7.
