Has anyone been successful in adding guest play in E6 integration with Foresight?
Tech support says this is not possible

Beware of purchasing E6 thru foresight if you want to add guest play. Guests need to have fsx live account and fsx 2020 license to play according to tech support.
This is extremely poor business practices since they don’t tell you that before you buy the software thru them or upgrade thru them.

Wow I hope that is some sort of error. That would have to be the stupidest move ever. So you couldn't have any friends over to play?? I was going to look into E6 but am going to see what the next major FSX update brings.

If this is true, I'm cancelling my order right now. I'm on hold with Foresight Customer Service as I type this message. (I can see guest players needing an FSX Live account, but not a paid license --- that would be stupid!)

Just finished my phone conversation and the Foresight Rep said that a guest player does need to pay for a full license. This was a decision they made during development and they are getting a lot of negative feedback for that decision -- and rightfully so. I cancelled my order since I had not gotten my license key. Save me $3K, so I guess that is a good thing, but I sure was looking forward to playing some of those courses. I'm totally bummed.

Does this mean you can't have guests at your house playing with you locally? I could see that for remote play but local? Makes no sense.

yes, the example i asked about was to play with my daughter as a guest and he said she would need a license too. I cancelled immediately after that.

OMG - that's the craziest thing I've ever heard? Whomever the Exec was that made that decision is going to regret it like heck until he/she changes it! There's no way anyone would tolerate that, if they owned the software.

What is wrong with these people??? Did they mention they were going to drop that requirement any time soon?

Goodness, paying 2500 for single player only..
nowhere was this mentioned, you think people would mention that the first day it came out?

Well, Foresight Support just left me a voicemail to call them back. Said he wanted to "clarify" something. So perhaps, he misunderstood that my guests would be local play (even though my scenario was playing with my young daughter.) I'll post again after they call me back.

Foresight Support said they were given a poorly written memo that described this situation and that they were wrong and have been giving out bad guidance.

Guest players only need to get an FSX Live account. They do not need a license or anything else. This makes so much more sense. I re-instated my order.

I was just told by tech support that a full license is not required after they told me it was. but I tried creating a guest fsx live account and it wouldn’t take .
if anyone is successful doing this please post how
this company does not have their act together when it comes to this software integration.

My brother went to performance.foresightsports.com and said he was able to create his FSX Live account. He said it only took a minute or two and had zero issues.

Gawlfa - was he able to play with you on your FSX software at that point then, as a guest, for no fee? That's how it should be!

Yes, we played today. He created a free FSX Live account and also had to create a free E6 Player account. We played a few scramble rounds today. Loved it. Had some weird putting speed issues -- mainly just me on some putts from 11-15 feet away. Seemed like I had to hit them pretty hard to get to the hole, whereas in FSX I could just barely get it to my screen and it would be hard enough to get to the hole. I changed the green stimp to 11, but still had one or two putts that I thought should have made it to the cup, but only went 5 or 6 feet.

I appreciate all the comments. I have both TruGolf simulator and FSX2020/GCQuad. On their own, E6 has always been responsive dealing with bug reports, as has Foresight. Major bugs always get addressed.

I was really disappointed in the E6 upgrade, going from having 70 courses down to the standard 27...what a bargain (snark). But the graphic improvement was really nice.

I wanted to see if I could use my E6 license with my GCQuad, obviously only running one or the other at a time. Get this: Foresight wants to charge $500 for me to use a license that I already own! I'd give them wave with all 5 fingers, but they get one finger free and will have to pay for the other 4 to be put up. How many things can they monetize? It's disappointing to see that the two companies must work together to resolve issues. I'll be passing on running E6 with my Quad.

E6 wins on how they handle putting with respect to aiming and visual distance representation. FSX2020 wins on flight physics. They both should be ashamed that they use their customers as beta testers without any compensation...software seems to be the one item we purchase that is never complete, has a ton of bugs and we pay for the privilege to figure it out for them and waste -our- time for the benefit of the company we just paid to develop said software....weird...then they put out a 'paid upgrade' and we start the process over again.

Anyone experiencing putting issues in E6? There have been some instances where I hit the putt fairly hard and it rolls 5' and then comes to an abrupt stop. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I have the latest launcher 1.1.0.27.

I experimented with the putting issue. Turns out it is anytime it is an uphill putt. I was on the putting green hitting flat and downhill putts and it was fine. Changed to an uphill putt and was able to recreate the issue. Basically, the ball hits a "wall" at around 5 feet away and stops and typically rolls back to around my starting point. This was on an incline as little as 6". For a 12 foot putt uphill 6", I had to hit it as if it were a 30-40 footer. Something is wrong here. Plus, I can't change clubs. Was hoping the system was accidentally changing me to a wedge and that's why it would stop and then back up. But, I can't even change or see the club selection, so guess that is not it. (Note: I installed from the Foresight download, but upon launching it said there was an updated version. Is it possible the updated version is not the correct one? The E6 version number just says 1.6.4.)

For the record it is E6 that charges the $500 fee for transfers. Not Foresight. You have to go through Foresight for the purchase though.

The uphill putt almost sounds like it's level so the ball is driving into the slop or it's using spin. I thought this was an issue earlier on but was fixed. Weird that others aren't reporting that but then people seem to gloss over the weird physics they see when the graphics are nice. I'm still waiting to even demo this until they get the weird spin stuff fixed.
