  • Best cameras for GC Quad

Can anyone recommend a quality camera with high fps for a gc quad? I prefer plug and play. I'd like.it to be in slow motion right away without having to change too many settings. Thanks in advance.

Baller, can you share a swing video of your good camera here for myself and others to see here?

Yeah, I'll try to post a vid later today. Not sure the easiest way to post something that large, but I'll try and figure it out.

Yeah, how about some pics along the way. That should give enough to see. Some graininess but I'm very happy with the videos. Happy to hear any swing tips...If you see my right thumb...I really struggle with that part of impact. So in my head.

Annoying...I don't think I can put the pics in order.

Snipe thanks, my swing has changed a lot since this posting...hopefully for the better but I'll check that out.

I did buy swing cat home (2 cam version) and I do like it a lot. I highly recommend it under this deal. I doubt I'd pay the full regular price if this deal ended, just because I have other software, but it seems like this is a long term deal and I'd recommend anyone who needs video analysis software to get it.

The auto detect of the swing from the quad is excellent!

Those cams without lens will cost $400-500 unless you find a deal on ebay (they do occasionally pop up, but it's rare).

Sorry to drudge up an old post, but I just purchased identical cameras and I can’t get the damn things to record a swing more than once. It just gives me a black screen. Trying to figure out what is wrong in my setup. Did you get a deprecate usb pci card?

The problem is that it takes so incredibly much for both the system and fsx to process the insane amount of data this cam produces at such a high fps. You have to keep clicking the button to show the video and it will eventually show. I did, however, turn down my fps because you don't need that much.

So cameras have arrived but I am having issues getting them up and running - not so much plug and play for me. I have posted in another thread here: Need Help Installing Imaging Source Cameras in the SIM Builds section. Help!

Hi does anyone know if iPhones are supported to work as a camera for FSX2020?

btw, it seems the OBS version supports 60fps https://apps.apple.com/us/app/droidc...m/id1510258102

Cool. I tried some other wifi iPhone cam at 1080p/60fps, and it was quite good. But it was one of those annoying free apps that plays video clip as ads the whole time. I will take a look at DroidCam paid version.

I got an iPhone 12 up and running today @ 60 FPS with IVCam. Not a bad solution for free and it took all of 10 minutes (or less).

Anyone who’s using the dragon cameras from Ali express, was the usb cable long enough or did you buy active usb 3.0 cables somewhere else or what length?

I just ordered swing catalyst and it’s so much better than fsx2020..just from using my iPhone to record..

Active USB cables worked for me. My "down the line" camera cord is routed to a wall and up to the ceiling then over and it drops down for the camera. Quite a long run.

The Ali Express cameras appear to be USB 2.0 right?

I received 2 of the usb dragon cameras from Ali express. I’m very impressed with them! I just needed one 15ft cable for the down the line view. No issues and yes they’re usb 2.0
i use them everyday with swing catalyst, highly recommend..

I've been spending WAY too much time trying to figure out which cameras to get. There doesn't seem to be a ton of rhyme or reason around Sony's naming conventions, and I can't quite figure out what makes the most difference for high speed, low light (relative - meaning not full natural light) situations (sensor size? FPS? Mega pixels? Pixel size?)

            I've found Pathfindr's videos helpful:

He makes the point that if you're looking to reduce club blur - the El P Camera firmware enables gain adjustment while the Kayton cameras do not. Certainly something to keep in mind.

I was also unfamiliar with Kinovea software - which obviously I'll give a shot.

The search continues - but this is where I'm at currently.

What model go pro are you using? What interface? HDMI to video capture card?
