HMT Protection

After reading these forums, it seemed like there was no great way to protect the HMT unit for a GC2. Yes, it breaks off if you hit a shank -- but my bigger concern was bouncebacks.

I ended up finding a guy on Etsy who had made a metal GC2 case and worked with him to build one for the HMT as well. Pics included below as well as a link if you're interested. It seems to protect it without interfering with the HMT's ability to read the club face.

Basically, yes. The bottom slides under the HMT connection arm, and you just screw it in. It comes with a new thumb screw that keeps the unit level given the extra weight on the arm.

Cool! I got Andy’s metal enclosure it’s awesome, and I like the idea of the hmt covering though so I could just leave it on 24/7. Usually I just put the hmt away when guests come over since they don’t use it..and are a little wild off the tee. :-)

Thank you for posting. I just ordered one as I really liked how it hid and cleaned up all the wires along with the protection. Cool idea!

Does the HMT cover work for both right-handed and left-handed setups? Or is it specific to right hand?

At this point it only works for RH. If you ping the gentleman who manufactures it I'm betting he can cut you a left-handed one now that he has the dimensions. He would just need to flip which side is open vs. protected.
