  • GCQ TGC2019 New Interface GCQX2

Hey guys, I have a new interface for you that fixes the need to run FSX and also gives you the ability to connect Via USB. That's right, it's called GCQX2.

The GCQ Connect light does not come on in USB. It’s on purpose.

GC2 on USB? Wow that would be handy to know about if anyone has setup instructions. Didn't know that was even possible.

I can confirm this works GREAT without need to open FSX at all. Just start Protee interface; then this new GCQX 2 and start TGC and all good to go. When you start GCQX 2 you can select "Connect" to use Wifi if that's how you are connected to GCQuad or "USB Connect" if that's how you're connected. You still need to see 3 green lights in GCQX2 even though there are 4 options since one is for Wifi connection and one is for USB connection only one of those needs to turn green.
So much easier and more seamless!
Huge props and thanks to mthunt for doing this!

To clarify....what MTHUNT indicated that the 'GCQ Connect" text will not turn green. Add to that the 'WIFI" connection of course will not turn green if using USB, and USB not green if using WIFI. So...only two greens will exist.. .the chosen connection and ProTee. This is what I experienced. Lastly, not mentioned specifically herein but clear in the other places: While in ProTee interface be sure to select "TGC" from the game drop down and also "External Control" slider must be 'ON'. After setting these, as well as Imperial units if desired, hit SAVE (I forgot this step twice). The close, re-open ProTee, GCQX2, then TGC. Success! Thanks to all that have contributed. Now that I am playing TGC2019 (and $900 later), I do enjoy the different kind of game, but I'm not sure - if you're focused on realism - that is better than FSX2020. Just different, and enjoyable.

Just to be clear this is an interface for the GCQuad. If you want a USB for GC2 DM me.

Awesome work mthunt. Thank you so much. It is more convenient and seems more stable to connect through USB. I'm expecting a similar solution for GC2.

mthunt - Great job! It is now so easy to connect and play TGC2019. After installing this, I have now played TGC2019 more in the last few days than I did over the past year. Super stable and no lag in the ball flight.

Guys I want to pull the trigger but don’t want to make a $900 mistake so want to make sure I have this right:

              1. I have to buy through protee what sim do I pick from the drop down? Protege or other? I ask because it keeps saying the protee interface what does this mean? Is this different than the TGC software?

              2. I can’t buy through gunghogolf?

              3. my quad is connected via Ethernet currently, so it I understand I have to connect via USB or WiFi.

              4. I then download the GSX2 utility?

              do I have this correct?

              thanks

Buy it from GungHo. Good guy. Select ProTee or Foresight as hardware. Follow these instructions and substitute the interface above for GSX

Follow the steps below and in the next few post to initially connect your GC2 to GSX to ProTee Interface. Enjoy! 1: Connect your Bluetooth adapter to your pc's USB

GungHo may list as Foresight while ProTee lists it as ProTee.

I'm super pleased with this app. I have a GCQuad and wanted the option of choosing to play from a long list of courses, hence TGC2019.

No FSX2020 needed, just turn on the GCQuad, start ProTee, start GCQX2, connect (USB in my case), wait for green, and then start TGC2019. Game on!!

                Thanks mthunt

Guys - I just received my email from Gungho on the TGC2019. I have many questions as I start to download software. With this new interface, can I bypass these instructions below that were from a previous link?

                  1) If you have built in Bluetooth on your computer you want to disable it. If not skip to step 2.
                  - Double Click on Bluetooth icon located bottom right corner of computer in taskbar.
                  - Click on "More Bluetooth Options" on right side of screen.
                  - Click on "Hardware" tab and double click on the built in Bluetooth adapter in the list. Then click on "Change Settings".
                  - Click on "Driver" tab and then you can click "Disable Device"

                  2) Connect your ASUS USB-BT400 Bluetooth adapter and install it.
                  - After installing click on "Bluetooth" icon mentioned in step 1 and click on "More Bluetooth Options". Then under "Hardware" tab you should see your old device disabled and ASUS BT device installed and active.

                  3) Pair GC2: Turn on GC2 and click on "Bluetooth" icon to view devices. Then click on Foresight_GC2 and Pair.
                  - My screen shows it as "Paired" once successful.

                  4) Now you need to determine which COM ports are being used. You will use the "Outgoing" COM Port in the GSX interface.
                  - Click on Bluetooth icon to open, then click on "More Bluetooth Options". Click on "COM Ports" tab. You will see which COM ports are your Incoming and Outgoing. Note which COM ports they are.

Have you tested that laptop with TGC? It’s below spec. You might need to turn down graphics a lot.
