I just downloaded the update yesterday and got a unity error crash after a few shots on the practice facility. :-(

We have heard of one other instance of continued crashing and it was related to a Windows DirectX failure.

My fault, I had 1.8.1.2. I'll update the newest and see how it goes..

I upgraded to the latest version and it has fixed my unity bug crashes, however, I notice that the on screen aim line no longer lines up with ball placement. Once a ball is detected the line shifts about 2 feet left of where the ball is. Has anyone else experienced this kind of issue?

Stan, thanks for the reply; however it did not work. Just for the record, I did not have any issues with this prior to the upgrade. Following the directions of the room configurator, I have set my DX variable to 28 inches, which is the distance from GCQ to the center of my hitting mat. This created a near perfect aim line on FSX2020, about 2 inches right of center - see first picture. In FSX Play, with the ball placed on the center of the hitting mat, the aim line shifted 12 or so inches to the left of the ball (2nd picture).2 Photos

I had my group of friends come today to play on the simulator. These guys have been coming almost every weekend for several years, no matter if it is summer or winter. They have seen the change over from my GC2 to the quad, FSX2020 to FSXPlay and all of the updates so they are very much aware of any changes. They sensed there was a difference today with the new update. What they saw was a difference in ball placement and the effect on the screen. They thought this update was much more sensitive to the ball placement.. As long as the ball was placed exactly 22 inches from the Quad, nothing was effected. However, the closer the ball was placed to the Quad, the more the aiming line and target line went to the right. The further way, the more left. Front to back was no problem as long as the ball was placed in the center. What this did was shrink the size of the hitting area. I think this may have happened with the older updates but not to this degree. I’m not saying this is good or bad, right or wrong. It was happening. I hope what i said made sense.

siebo - yes that does make sense.
Just from the newest version, I noticed the aim line moving much more than previously when the ball is closer to or further from the Quad. If the ball is about in the middle of the hitting area, the aim line seems right. But if the ball is far away from the Quad the aim line seems too far left (close to the middle of my screen) and if the ball is close to the Quad the aim line is too far right (almost next to the mini-map).
It doesn't seem like a room config issue because nothing is off so long as the ball is in the middle of the hit zone. It's more that the aim line seems overly sensitive to ball position within the hitting zone.
I only noticed this from the most recent Play update.

Has anyone experienced issues with the yardage and uphill/downhill rectangular box randomly disappearing? I have not been able to complete a full 18 hole round with it still visible, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when it disappears. The black line that typically connects it to the target point is still visible but the box itself disappears.
This has happened on 2 courses, St Andrews Old and Farms GC, so far but doesn't seem to be an issue on the practice range, either the Foresight Facility or Paris. I have yet to try other courses or try saving and exiting.

Just an update on the aiming line and target moving. I still have FSX 2020 on my computer and the moving aiming line did not move. I have been in contact with Alan, a tech support person. Let me say Alan was great to work with and really tried to find out if this is an issue with the current update. I tried to tell him what was going on but ended up sending him pictures and a video that showed how much the aiming line and target were moving on the screen. He showed these to his development team and got back to me today. The team said this is what the software is supposed to do. I still can’t believe this is correct. Anyhow, i just received from him this link http://feedback.foresightsports.com/ which allows us to give feedback or sign up to vote on requested features. I haven’t checked it out yet because I just got it.

Thanks siebo.
I agree with you that the way the aim line is jumping around cannot be the intended functionality. It has to be a bug because it did not do this in prior versions of Play, so unless they tell us they made the change on purpose to the new version, it's an error. I'm thinking of reinstalling the previous version because it was working for me and I don't like having to put the ball in the exact same place every time in order for the aim line to be straight, which I do on the latest version.
