Foresight GC2 on ProTee Golf 2.0 with Online Play!

GC2 owners now have the option of using their GC2 launch monitor with the ProteePlay(ProteeGolf 2.0) simulation software. They will even be able to play online with Protee golf simulator owners.

GC2 on ProTee Golf 2.0 with Online Play - REVIEW!

I have recently downloaded the new GC2 integration for the ProTee (PT), called the GSX. After spending some time with the PT support team over the past couple of days working out the nuances for proper configuration, I have it up and running.
Here's how it works:
Install the GSX
Pair the GC2 with your computer (Bluetooth only, cannot use the USB cable)
Run the PT interface and PT portal
Configure the GSX - use proper COM ports, make adjustments with sliders for rough/bunker penalties, distance, spin, green speed, forgiveness, etc. All settings are done in the GSX as the PT interface is no longer valid.
Start your PT game and play on your choice of the entire RedChain course library using your GC2 - Simply amazing
Play either offline, or online against the growing PTOnline community.

Features/functionality - It simply works like it should. The same RedChain software for the GC2 is not user friendly at all. Putting on the

Dumb question but do all the GC2 units use the Bluetooth feature or does this have anything to do with the newer units?

All units use bluetooth. The newer ones(GC2A) have the new bluetooth that allows connections to Apple. You'll be fine.

Get a good bluetooth adapter. Don't go cheap. And make sure you have a clear line of site from the adapter to GC2. Don't plug the adpater directly behind the computer. Use a short pig tail USB extender to get the adapter in the clear or use the front USB ports.

My laptop (ASUS G53S)has bluetooth so I assume that should work then. I am not able to get to the GC2 to try anything with it but re read the manual and in there they talked about not using the Bluetooth for their software and only using the USB. That is where I now recall seeing about not being able to use it and was confused.

SFR - I think the USB reference is for when you update the GC2. They want you to connect that way to ensure the proper upgrade. The GC2 works fine either connected via bluetooth or USB for gameplay.
For the GSX integration, that does requires the Bluetooth pairing only.

That laptop will work fine but I would recommend setting Protee's graphics detail to balanced mode or slightly less, so you don't slow down online play. Also, set AA(screen settings)to no more than 2.

Internet speed? No high speed? Bluetooth not an issue with your GC2.

You can request a DVD. But you will still need to download the newer course packs, updates, etc...

Ignore the Foresight manual. You'll be dealing with Protee software only.

I have the only option we have in our small town...supposed to be high speed but down load speed is only 4.5 to 5 killo whatevers and upload is under 1. Will this run on my comodore 64...

Worse case I would have all the courses I ever wanted to play and I could just tell you all how well I played....

I think you should be fine for online play with that speed. Is it wired or wireless?

Out in my shop is wireless.

Should be ok. Just need to test and make sure it doesn't drop signals. Mine was initially wireless but had some dropped signals and that would freeze the online round. I since wired it (pretty cheap with cad5 cables now) have had no issues.
